Italian Flavia Pennetta won her first WTA Tour title when she defeated Czech Klara Koukalova in the final of the Idea Prokom Open in Poland.
Pennetta, the ninth seed, needed just over two hours to beat her 11th-seeded opponent 7-5 3-6 6-3.
Pennetta is the sixth woman to win her first Tour singles title so far in 2004, joining Nicole Pratt, Iveta Benesova, Emilie Loit, Jelena Jankovic and Claudine Schaul as debut winners.
Top seed Anastasia Myskina had earlier withdrawn from her semi-final against Koukalova with a right rib sprain.
