Justine Henin-Hardenne breezed past Lindsay Davenport to land the women's singles title at Indian Wells on Sunday.
The Belgian raced to the opening set for the loss of just one game, with Davenport struggling to find any sort of rhythm on home soil.
Davenport at least made a game of it in the next, but world number one proved just why she is the woman to beat on the WTA Tour in 2004.
Henin-Hardenne, the holder of three grand slam titles, broke crucially in the second set before eventually wrapping up a 6-1 6-4 win.
