Anna Pistolesi routed Klara Koukalova 6-2 6-0 to
win her first title of the year on Saturday at the Idea Prokom Open.
The third seed from Israel improved to 7-0 in her career in tour finals.
Pistolesi might have cruised through the final, but she earned the 50,000 US
dollar first prize after batting over nine hours this week.
She defeated defending champion Dinara Safina in the quarter-finals and second
seed Patty Schnyder in the semi-finals.
"Klara played some good points, but I controlled the match from the very
first point," Pistolesi said.
"I did enough to win. It's never easy in any final.
"The final was probably the easiest of my victories so far."
The 27-year-old Pistolesi won four small tournaments last year but has
struggled in 2003.
Prior to this week, her best result was a semi-final to start the year at the
ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand.
