Romanian teenager Alexandra Dulgheru hailed an "unbelieveable week" at the Warsaw Open after she claimed the title on her WTA Tour debut.
The 19-year-old pulled off a shock victory over much-fancied Alona Bondarenko on Saturday.
Dulgheru, of Romania and ranked 201st in the world, won 7-6 (7/3) 3-6 6-0 in just under three hours to complete a fairytale week.
Dulgheru said: "It's been an amazing week, but I'm relieved it's over - and ended in such a nice way!
"After so many matches I am tired, and a bit surprised that I was able to keep playing so well, match after match. I really have to thank my family for their support. I think if they hadn't been here for the final my energy would have dropped. I did it for them.
"It's something unbelievable; I'm speechless about it. All I can say right now is that it gives me confidence to go on, to keep improving for the future."
The final was interrupted twice by rain and plagued by strong winds but 19-year-old Dulgheru, who was a qualifier for the tournament, kept her nerve to display a range of powerful groundstrokes and deft drop shots.
Ukrainian Bondarenko, ranked 39th in the world and the eighth seed here, led 4-0 in the second set when the match was halted for 25 minutes because of rain, and the interruption put her off her game.
She clinched that set but quickly went 2-0 down in the third, when another shower forced the players off.
When they returned 10 minutes later, Dulgheru reeled off four games in a row to claim the title.
Prior to this week, Dulgheru's best career win had been against world number 138 Olivia Sanchez. However, in Warsaw she beat four players inside the top 100, including three seeds, en route to the trophy.
She becomes only the fifth player ranked 200 or lower since 1983 to win a WTA Tour event.
