Nadia Petrova won her first WTA Tour title of the year on Sunday with a resounding 6-2 6-1 victory over Nathalie Dechy at the Western and Southern Financial Group Women's Open in Cincinnati.
Showing she may be ready to make a run at the US Open, which starts in eight days, the second-seeded Petrova claimed her first title since February 2007 in Paris.
The Russian needed just 70 minutes to overwhelm Dechy, who was appearing in her first final since New Haven in 2004.
Petrova broke Dechy's serve six times and fired three aces in improving to 6-2 lifetime against the Frenchwoman.
