Justine Henin rallied from a poor first set to post a 2-6 6-2 6-1 victory over Tatiana Golovin in the final of the Porsche Grand Prix.
It was the eighth title this season and 37th of her career for Henin, the world's top-ranked player and the number one seed in this hardcourt event.
The Belgian superstar entered Sunday's final with a 15-match winning streak - a stretch in which she had not dropped a single set.
That incredible run came to an end in this match, as Golovin converted a pair of breaks and fired two aces to win the first set.
It marked the first time that Henin dropped a set since losing to Marion Bartoli in the Wimbledon semi-final, a span of 30 consecutive sets.
But Henin gathered herself to dominate the rest of the way and improve to 54-4 overall this season.
The reigning French and US Open champion broke Golovin three times in each of the last two sets to collect the trophy.
The 19-year-old Golovin failed to capitalise on Henin's early struggles and missed an opportunity at her third career title.
One day after ousting world number two Svetlana Kuznetsova, the unseeded Russian could not repeat the feat against Henin, falling to 0-3 all-time against the Belgian.
Golovin lost in the final of this Tier II event for the second straight season.
She fell to fellow Russian Nadia Petrova in the title match last year.
