Nadia Petrova has captured her sixth career title with victory over Tatiana Golovin at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart.

The fourth seed from Russia, Petrova remained unbeaten in finals this season with a 6-3 7-6 (7-4) victory.

It was Petrova's first win in four meetings with Golovin, who had beaten the Russian twice earlier this season including a third-round meeting at the US Open.

Petrova, who pocketed US$100,000 with the win, continued a career season in which she has won five titles.

It was her first title since May, when she captured the Berlin Open.

Golovin, 18, fell to 0-3 in career finals. She was appearing in her first since the Japan Open last October.
