Israeli teenager Shahar Peer won the biggest WTA Tour title of her career on Saturday as she beat Russian Anastasia Myskina in a nail-biting final to the Istanbul Cup.
The third set tie-break victory marked a dramatic comeback for the 19-year-old who lost the first set 6-1 to number one seed Myskina.
But after forcing a third and deciding set by taking the second set 6-3, number four seed Peer clinched the US$200,000 prize money, eventually winning 7-6 (7-3) in the decider.
