Marta Domachowska will have to wait a while longer
to claim her first career WTA singles title.
Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain got the better of Domachowska, defeating the
native of Poland, 6-4 6-3 Saturday to win the Strasbourg International.
Medina Garrigues had upset top seed Nathalie Dechy of France, 6-4 6-1 in the
semi-finals of the Tier III claycourt event on Friday.
The 22-year-old Medina Garrigues, who had won two career singles titles but
none this year, was facing a fellow unseeded player in the final.
The 19-year-old Domachowska reached the final by defeating Dally Randriantefy
of Madagascar on Friday, 6-3 6-3.
