Flavia Pennetta ended Lourdes Dominguez Lino's
surprising run to claim the WTA title in Bogota - but it was not easy.
Pennetta posted a 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 triumph over Spain's Dominguez Lino on Sunday
in the final of the claycourt event.
The second seed from Italy, Pennetta notched her second career victory.
Dominguez Lino, who has been on the professional circuit since 1996, had not
dropped a set prior to Sunday and stunned home favourite and defending champion Fabila Zuluaga in the last four.
The 23-year-old was appearing in her first final, having reached the
quarter-finals of a tour event just once.
