Slovenia's Katarina Srebotnik clinched her third
career WTA Tour singles title on Saturday when she beat Japan's Shinobu Asagoe
in the final of the ASB Classic in Auckland.
The 23-year-old Srebotnik, who had to win her semi-final over Marion Bartoli
of France earlier in the day due to Friday's rain delays, prevailed 5-7 7-5 6-4
over Asagoe in two hours 19 minutes.
The Slovenj Gradec native would end up celebrating three victories on
Saturday, in fact, because she also teamed up with Asagoe to capture her eighth
career Tour doubles crown.
They won 6-3 6-3 over New Zealander Leanne Baker and Italian Francesca
Lubiani.
