Serena Williams won the final of the
China Open on Sunday, seeing off the challenge of Russian second seed Svetlana
Kuznetsova in a close match in Beijing.
Williams, who was playing her fourth Russian opponent in four games in the
tournament, lost the opening set 6-4, before hitting back to claim the second
7-5.
And the American top seed took the final set 6-4 to win her first title since
Miami in April, and will take home a cheque for £50,000.
