Anastasia Myskina admitted the "home court" crowd had
played its part after she came from behind against fellow Russian Svetlana
Kuznetsova on Saturday to win a second successive title in Doha.
Kuznetsova led in the third set but eventually ran out of gas and Myskina
prevailed 4-6 6-4 6-4 to successfully defend her Qatar Total Open title.
Myskina, who enters the world's top five with the crown, said on the WTA Tour
website: "I love this country," she said. "I always do well here and it feels
like home. I think I'll move soon.
"The crowd was unbelievable, behind me throughout the whole week. I'd like to
thank them for their support."
Myskina trailed 3-1 in the final set but fought back to win in an hour and 41
minutes.
Kuznetsova will not be too downcast after enjoying the best two weeks of her
career.
She knocked top ranked Justine Henin-Hardenne out of the tournament in the
semi-finals on Friday.
Just last week, Belgian beat beat Kuznetsova in the final of the Dubai Duty
Free Women's Open.
She is set to climb to 14 in the rankings.
"Obviously you're never satisfied after a loss," Kuznetsova said. "If you
are then you won't improve. But it's nice to break into the top 15 so soon."
