Anastasia Myskina of Russia claimed a victory
on home soil as she lifted the Kremlin Cup on Sunday.
Myskina, seeded four, saw off Frenchwoman Amelie Mauresmo to clinch the title
in straight sets 6-2 6-4.
Myskina was cheered on by former Russian president Boris Yeltsin who was also
courtside for her semi-final against Anna Pistolesi.
Yeltsin is himself a keen amateur tennis player.
Myskina thus has clinched back-to-back titles with this crown following hot on
the heels of her victory in Leipzig last week.
