Rita Grande beat fellow Italian Antonella Serra Zanetti in Morocco on Saturday to take the Casablanca Grand Prix title.
The second seed prevailed in three sets after a tense battle with her compatriot.
It looked like being a one-sided affair when Grande raced through the first set, but Serra Zanetti battled back to take the second 6-4.
The decider was another romp for Grande as she stormed to a 6-1 verdict.
Grande was winning her first WTA Tour title since 2001.
