Indonesia's unseeded Angelique Widjaja defeated Yoon Jeong Cho of Korea 6-2 6-4 to capture the Volvo Women's Open.
It is the
second career title for the 17-year-old Widjaja, who last year became the
lowest-ranked player at world number 579 to triumph when she won on home soil in
Bali.
The former Wimbledon junior champion, who knocked out top seed Tatiana Paova in the semi-finals, was always in control in Pattaya City and fully deserved her win.
