Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia claimed her second
WTA Tour title with victory in the Abierto Mexicano Pegaso event.
The 20-year-old fought back well after a disappointing first set tie-break to
beat seventh seed Paola Suarez of Argentina 6-7 (1/7) 6-4 6-2.
Suarez began well but the match changed in the second set when her opponent
reeled off seven games in a row to claim it 6-4 and then take command of the
third.
Srebotnik's previous tournament success came in 1999 in Estoril and she was
delighted to have added to her trophy collection.
"I was looking for this one for a long time," she said afterwards. "I am very
happy to get it finally."
