Wild card Fabiola Zuluaga claimed the Copa Colsanitas title for the second time
in her career.
Zuluaga, a 23-year-old from Bogota, defeated unseeded Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia 6-1 6-4 to the delight of the
home crowd.
This is her third career championship after reaching her first final since May 2000.
Zuluaga was sidelined for most of last year after a double shoulder operation but managed enough Tour action to
make 285 in the WTA rankings
Both of Zuluaga's previous victories on the WTA Tour were in 1999.
After winning the Copa, she captured the Brazil Ladies Open title at Sao Paulo in October.
Srebotnik, ranked 89th in the world, was bidding for her second career tournament victory.
The 20-year-old Slovenian captured the 1999 Estoril Open clay-court title.
