Adriana Gersi of the Czech Republic took
her first tour title with a straight sets win over surprise finalist
Marie-Gaiane Mikaelian.
The Swiss teenager, ranked at 167 in the world, upset Israeli Anna Smashnova to
set up a final meeting Gersi, but the world number 102 proved too strong,
winning 6-4 6-1.
The 25-year-old Gersi's previous best was a semi-final placing in Qatar earlier
this year.
Mikaelian's efforts in her home tournament superseded her last four place in
June's Tashkent Open.
