Unseeded Belgian Justine Henin crushed France's Sandrine Testud to claim her tenth straight win and the title at the $170,000 Canberra event.
The 19-year-old claimed her third career title and her second in a fortnight by winning 6-2 6-2, after her triumph at last week's Australian women's hardcourt on the Gold Coast.
On her way to the final, Henin eliminated Canadian Sonya Jeyaseelan, fifth-seeded Bulgarian Magdalena Maleeva, American third seed Chanda Rubin and Nathalie Dechy, the French seventh seed, without losing one single set.
And runner-up Testud now believes Henin is among the players to watch at the Australian Open, starting on Monday.
"It's going to probably take a while for the players to find out the solution against her, and then we'll find out how good a player she really is," said Testud.
