Winner of two of the four Grand Slams, Russian number three Svetlana Kuznetsova arrives at Wimbledon playing some of the best tennis of her career.
Glory at this year's French Open always looked possible after victory on the red stuff at Stuttgart and a final appearance in the Italian Open.
As in Stuttgart it was world number one Dinara Safina who fell at the final hurdle in Paris - further proof that Kuznetsova is still one of the most dangerous women on the circuit.
A winner of Eastbourne in 2004 but a first-round loser in 2009, Kuznetsova has shown she is well capable of a serious assault on the elusive Wimbledon title - fitness permitting.
Just how much the memorable win in Paris has taken out of the Russian will soon be revealed, but a three-time quarter-finalist in SW19 can't be ruled out.
