Defending champion Venus Williams once again arrives at the All England Club as the woman to beat.
Few if any will want to face five-time champion in the early stages of the draw, despite the American failing to dazzle in this year's two Grand Slams.
A second-round defeat in Melbourne saw Venus' wait for glory Down Under extended to an 11th year, while a recent third-round loss at Roland Garros also added to her drought on the clay.
Wimbledon and grass is a completely different stage for Venus though. Since making her debut at the All England club as a 17-year-old in 1997, she has won the prestigious tournament on five occasions and is the current holder.
And it will take a brave, or reckless, person to bet against the powerful American adding to wins in 2000, 2001, 2005, 2007 and 2008.
She has already tasted victory in Dubai and Acapulco in 2009.
