Marion Bartoli was a shock finalist at Wimbledon in 2007 but since then hasn't really made any impact on the Grand Slam stage.
The Frenchwoman, who memorably ousted Justine Henin in the semis here two years ago before ultimately losing to Venus Williams, has only once managed to progress as far as the quarter-finals at any other Grand Slam event throughout her career so it would be no surprise to see her suffer an early exit.
Fortunately though it was her run to the last eight at this year's Australian Open which has arguably revived her reputation as an opponent not to take lightly and in March she clinched her first WTA title in three years at the Monterrey Open.
Bartoli, who plays two-handed on both sides and is known for her tireless running, slumped to a second-round exit at her home Grand Slam at Roland Garros but she's always had a poor record there and will be more suited to the grass of SW19.
