Soderling took the French Open by storm before falling just short, and the Swede heads to SW19 hoping, rather than expecting, to repeat the feat.

In six visits to the All England Club, the Swedish number one has been knocked out in the first round on three occasions and has never made it into the last 16.

However, Soderling's form in 2009 has been impressive and if ever there was a year for him to sparkle on grass then this could be it.

His final appearance in Paris was his second of the year after he claimed victory in Florida in March. He also reached the quarter-finals in Brisbane and went one better in Auckland before being edged out by Juan Martin Del Potro.

Despite his current form, Soderling has much to prove on grass and it will be a surprise to see him in action in week two.
