2110 : Murray does the business, serving out a 7-6 3-6 6-3 win with a hold to 30. The Briton and American partner Huber are into the last 16 of the mixed doubles. It is the host nation's one and only success in doubles today. That wraps up the action. No play tomorrow, so join us again around 1130 BST on Monday for fourth-round day.

2106 : Break for Murray and Huber! China's Yan cracks and the British-American pair lead 5-3. Surely Murray will now be given the chance to serve the match out.

2100 : The female serve is often the more attackable and that's the case with Huber serving. However, despite being taken to deuce she manages to hold. Murray and Huber now lead 4-3. I'm pretty sure if this was a singles match they would have stopped by now.

2056 : Murray and Zimonjic both hold easily and move the score onto 3-3. No sign of a suspension yet.

2050 : Murray and Huber get back on terms at 2-2 in the decider with a break of Yan's serve. It's pretty dark out on Court Two now, as you can probably imagine. It's not been a very sunny afternoon and evening.

2045 : We will keep an eye on that one before we go for the day.

2044 : That leaves just the one match still going on at the All England Club - Murray and Huber against Zimonjic and Yan. They are into the final set now but it's not good news for Murray as the 10th seeds are already 2-0 up.

2042 : More British woe from the mixed doubles - Fleming and Borwell have just lost 7-6 6-3 to Bhupathi and Mirza.

2040 : Wow. He's really blown it. A double fault gifts Ferrero victory in the gloom - he collapses to the turf on the baseline in sheer delight. He's back in the last 16 in SW19 and will play Gilles Simon for a place in the quarter-finals. The crowd have loved this match and duo get a standing ovation as they depart. A five-set thriller is won 6-4 in the decider by the former French Open champion.

2039 : Big trouble for Gonzo - he goes from 30-0 to 30-40 and so it's match point to Ferrero.

2037 : No frailty there from Ferrero - another easy hold takes him 5-4 up and now all the pressure will be on Gonzo as he must hold every time now to stay in the tournament.

2036 : Jamie Murray and Liezel Huber have just lost the second set of their clash with Zimonjic and Yan so there will be a final set - there's no champions tie-break like there is at the French Open. I can't see it getting finished tonight, but they play on for now.

2035 : Gonzalez responds with a love hold of his own. 4-4. That game featured a couple of points where challenges would probably have been made but with Hawk-eye off they have to accept the initial ruling - it's back to the old school for these two now.

2032 : Impressive stuff from Ferrero sees him hold to love for a 4-3 lead. It's been nip and tuck all the way between these two from what I have seen.

2028 : The players don't seem too happy at that effort from the umpire. Now they are asked to approach the chair and it seems Hawk-eye is being turned off as it's getting too dark for it to operate. The crbowd think they may be stopping but that's not the case. On they go.

2026 : Bizarre scenes as the umpire appears to get the score wrong in the fifth game. The players come to the conclusion that Ferrero has indeed won it!

2023 : A convincing hold from Gonzo levels the set up again. He's leading the way for the men in the grunting stakes, it's fair to say, letting out plenty of noise on his shots at the moment. 2-2.

2020 : Ferrero holds on to move 2-1 ahead in this final set. The spots on rain appear to have stopped falling.

2019 : Gonzalez drops a return short and Ferrero is all over it. Back to deuce.

2018 : A break point follows but Gonzalez can't convert. Nervous times for Ferrero. Gonzalez lets rip on the forehand down the line. He makes it so it's break point for a second time.

2016 : Ferrero wants to stop but he's told to play and immediately he goes from 30-0 to 30-30.

2015 : It's now 1-1 and there are murmurs from the crowd as rain begins to fall!

2012 : Some thumping hitting from Gonzalez earns him a break point in the opening game of the decider but then he finds the net on the backhand - that's him all over a glorious point and then a needless mistake. When he keeps the errors to the minimum, he's some player. As it is Ferrero holds.

2010 : Murray's reaction to his win is in and he feels his first week could not gone much better. "I'll have to give myself an A for coming through the first week, each win is a big one here (but) I'm going to have to play better next week if I want to come home with the title.''

2008 : More British doubles news and Colin Fleming and Sarah Borwell have lost the opening set on a tie-break to 13th seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza, of India. Stay logged on for further updates.

2006 : Officials have confirmed that if they can't get this last singles match finished on Court One - be it for bad light or rain - then it will be moved over to Centre to finish. The roof has been closed on Centre now and the lights are on. It's getting ready for action - if required.

2005 : There will be a final set between Gonzalez and Ferrero. The Chilean produces a convincing game on serve, finishing it with one of his trademark forehand winners. 6-4 is the fourth set score.

2004 : Jamie Murray is currently action. He won the mixed title here two years ago and his campaign is going well again - he and partner Liezel Huber have taken the first set of their second-round match on a tie-break against 10th seeds Nenad Zimonjic and Zi Yan.

2003 : There are plenty of doubles matches still going on around the grounds and we are still awaiting a British winner in them today. The latest to lose are Ken Skupski and Katie O'Brien in the mixed second round. They've been beaten 6-3 7-6 by 11th seeds Andre Sa and Ai Sugiyama.

2001 : The score moves onto 5-4 so Gonzalez will now serve to force a final set.

1958 : This is the only third round singles match still to finish. The problem organisers have is that if he does not finish today the players will have to come back on Monday - and that will automatcially push the last-16 encounter between Simon and Gonzalez or Ferrero back to Tuesday. It's hardly the end of the world if that happens though. It is interesting to see what problems this new roof does create.

1955 : A PA announcement on Court One suggests the match could be moved to Centre to ensure it gets finished - clouds are still threatening. As you can imagine that doesn't go down too well with the thousands of fans still watching. For the time being at least, the match continues where it is.

1953 : There's still singles action going on out on Court One, with Juan Carlos Ferrero leading Fernando Gonzalez by two sets to one. However, 'Gonzo' is now 4-3 up with a break in the fourth. A decider beckons.

1948 : That was another majestic display from the Briton. He never gave Troicki a chance and totally dominated the encounter. Murray faced just one break point in the match - and saved it with an ace - so that's consecutive matches in which he has held serve now. Next up is Stanislas Wawrinka, the Olympic doubles champion. He's no means singles player either - seeded 19 here. They have met seven times before with Murray 4-3 up, although two of Wawrinka's wins have come on clay, Murray's least favourite surface. they last met at last year's US Open with Murray winning easily in straight sets. Of course, Murray went on te make the final there. The way things are going it's easy to see him repeating that trick here. Murray-Wawrinka will be on Monday, probably last on Centre if the order of play so far is anything to go by. Of course, you can also follow it right here with us too.

1946 : Another forehand winner off a short ball brings up two match points for Murray. And he finishes things with an ace. It's taken him just 96 minutes to win 6-2 6-3 6-4.

1944 : Troicki comes up with some big serves for a love hold. 5-4 and Murray to serve for the match.

1943 : On Court One, Gonzalez has broken early in the fourth set to lead 2-1. They could be heading for a deciding set there.

1942 : Troicki puffs his cheeks out as Murray scores with a dying slice drop shot. A forehand finishes the game. 5-3 now. Murray seems determined to win before any possible rain arrives. He's a game away now.

1938 : Murray takes Troicki to deuce but the Serb hangs on. Murray leads by two sets and 4-3. Can he get this finished off? I hope I didn't speak too soon about the weather. There are still clouds around!

1935 : It looks like we've escaped the threat of rain. Who'd have thought the first week would be totally dry?

1934 : Murray responds to a Troicki angled drop shot by dinking it back and leaving his opponent rooted. Great hands from the Briton who goes on to hold to 15. 4-2.

1930 : Troicki again gets out of trouble from 15-30 to hold. Still at 3-2 ahead, Murray is just three holds from a place in round four.

1926 : Murray saves the break point in style - with an ace - and two points later walks back to his seat with a 3-1 lead. It was a chance in name only for the Serb.

1925 : A couple of loose shots from Murray put him in a hole at 0-30. He gets back to 30-30 but then another error gives Troicki his first break point of the match!

1924 : Ferrero creates a third set point and this one is taken with a thunderous forehand - that's the shot that took him to the French Open title back in 2003. Superb stuff from the Spaniard who now leads by two sets to one against the 10th seed.

1921 : Troicki holds to 30 and reduces the gap to 2-1 in the third set. Over on Court One, Gonzalez saves two set points serving at 4-5 against Ferrero. Key moments there.

1917 : The frustration is vented by Troicki as he lets out an aggressive shout in the next game - he's having no joy here at all. This is the 30th seed and Murray is totally dominating him. Murray holds to love and leads 2-0. Troicki could be out of here pretty soon.

1915 : A splendid inside-out forehand winner from Murray gives him a third chance to break. This one is taken as Murray gets the ball back at Troicki's feet as he comes into the net and the Serb can't control the low volley. Murray has the break and leads 1-0 in the third.

1914 : Superb defence from Murray on game point sees him scamper back to retrieve a lob. He somehow keeps the ball in play and after seeing the ball bounce just inside his baseline, Troicki nets! Back to deuce.

1913 : Troicki falls 15-40 down in the opening game of the new set with a volley error, after which he looks up to his coach almost in disbelief at how things are going. Still, he manages to save both, Murray going into the net with a makable forehand on the second.

1911 : The threat of rain is back with the court staff gathering. Will play finally be halted after a perfect week of weather? I'm afraid it may have to be.

1910 : Murray's first-serve percentage went up to 74 per cent in that second set and he won nine out of 10 points when it went in. Ten aces in the set make the stats good reading for Muzza fans. The winner of this one will play Stanislas Wawrinka remember.

1909 : Up on Court One, it's now 3-3 in the third set between Gonzalez and Ferrero. It remains tight, the first two sets having been split. The winner of that one will meet Gilles Simon next.

1908 : As the tension builds for the first time on Centre Court, Murray produces his 12th ace and finishes the set when Troicki nets havingbeen stretched wide. Two sets to love to the British title hope and he's been in fine form once again.

1907 : The net cord soon evens things up - this one drops dead in Troicki's favour to make it 0-15. Murray recovers to 30-15 but then drop shots into the net!

1904 : Everything is going Murray's way - even a net cord which leaves Troicki with an impossible task. That makes it deuce on the Serb's serve but he manages to hold and forces Murray to serve the set out.

1858 : Troicki at least shows the crowd that he does have some classy shots in the repretoire - a fine drop shot gives him hope in the seventh game but Murray holds to 30. 5-2 now.

1854 : After another easy Murray hold, Troicki finds more trouble serving at 1-4. A limp forehand into the net is followed by a Murray pass to bring up break point. The Briton misses the opportunity with a forehand just wide. Troicki holds to reduce the deficit to 4-2 in the second set. First set Murray.

1850 : Troicki is on the board in the second set after stopping a Murray streak of seven straight games with a hold to 15. You sense the damage has already been done in this set though.

1849 : News from Court One and Juan Carlos Ferrero takes the second set 7-5 against Fernando Gonzalez. The battle of the bandanas is all square!

1847 : Troicki has an easy forehand at 0-15 which he pulls into the tramlines. He needs to take chances like that. Instead Murray marches on and two big serves see him clinch the game. 3-0.

1844 : Troicki in trouble. He finds the net again to fall down 15-40. Murray uses his speed to win the first of the two break points, grabbing control before finishing it off. Six straight games for Murray now. A set and 2-0 he leads.

1840 : Murray starts the second set with three consecutive aces but Troicki comes up with two fine returns on second serves to get back to 40-30. He then goes long so Murray holds, but that showed where Troicki needs to attack - on the second serve. That is what Rafael Nadal did so well against Murray here last year. Murray's first serve percentage in the first set was just 59 - considerably lower than on Thursday - so there is some hope for the underdog.

1837 : Easy for Murray so far. He takes the first set with another break of the Troicki serve. 6-2. It doesn't look as if the Serb can trouble Murray in any way so far. That's five sets for Murray from five played against him.

1833 : Murray gets out of that 0-30 situation and now leads 5-2. That match between Gonzalez and Ferrero is now the only other singles match outstanding. Gonzalez took the first set and it's 4-4 in the second.

1832 : Victory for Gilles Simon. He's won 6-2 7-5 6-2 against Victor Hanescu and reaches round four here for the first time. He'll now meet Fernando Gonzalez or Juan Carlos Ferrero.

1831 : Murray slips to 0-30 before getting one point back. On the next point, a Murray deep shot is called out, the umpire corrects the call before Hawk-eye proves the man in the chair is right. Relief for the Brit who duly levels at 30-30.

1828 : Murray breaks for a 4-2 lead when Troicki goes long. That was a messy game from the Serb and he was made to pay in full.

1827 : Troicki wins along rally to save the first. Meanwhile, Safina completes the women's last 16 with a 7-5 6-1 victory over Flipkens. She'll now meet former champion Amelie Mauresmo is what promises to be a cracking match on Monday. Safina was in early trouble today and had to save set point in the opener. But she responded well to that and dominated from then on.

1826 : A double fault from Troicki, who seems to be going big on his second delivery, sees him fall down 0-30. A netted forehand makes it three break points!

1824 : Troicki gets to 30-30 on the Murray serve but at thatstage the door is slammed in his face. The Briton moves 3-2 ahead. Thankfully no rain yet, but still plenty of dark clouds.

1823 : Lisicki on her shock win over Kuznetsova: "I'm just so happy. I just kept fighting. It was tough but I'm so happy to have pulled it out. It's a huge win for me because before Wimbledon I had not won a match on grass so I can't believe I'm in the fourth round. My parents and best friend were here today so it's the best thing that could have happened."

1821 : No sniff of a break yet as Troicki holds for 2-2. It's pronounced Troyt-skee, if you didn't know.

1818 : Safina holds in a lengthy game and backs it up with a second break of the Flipkens serve. That one looks over now with the top seed up a set and 4-1.

1817 : Another Murray hold to 15. Already he's showing the solidity on serve that he did against Gulbis on Thursday.

1814 : A comfortable start on serve from Troicki - and an early look at his tactics. The big serves were in evidence, while he was prepared to come to the net on two of the points there. 1-1.

1813 : Gilles Simon is now two sets up on Victor Hansecu having taken the second 7-5.

1811 : Murray gets things under way on Centre with a hold to 15. We'll focus on the Murray match now, but before we do a result to report - Stanislas Wawrinka has just beaten Jesse Levine 5-7 7-5 6-3 6-3. He will play the winner of Murray and Troicki.

1810 : Jankovic has shed some light on her illness earlier today - she lost to 17-year-old Melanie Oudin remember but needed the doctor to give her treatment. "After the first set I felt really dizzy and I thought that I was going to end up in the hospital,'' she said. "I started to shake. I was losing my consciousness.'' She added: "I was like a ghost, you know, white in the face. Really, I didn't know where I was. The physio came out and she asked me, 'Do you know your name?'. I just saw blurry. It was a really strange feeling. I was scared and I started to cry.'' Hearing that it sounds like she did well to finish the match.

1808 : First set to Fernando Gonzalez on Court One - 6-4 the score.

1806 : Very dark clouds are overhead now. It looks certain to rain pretty soon I'm afraid to say. Murray is warming up unfazed though.

1803 : Murray walks out onto Centre Court to a warm reception. The crowd have waited a while for this one and they are certainly ready. Viktor Troicki, a Serb, is his opponent today but Murray is clearly a hot favourite. One bookie makes him 1/66 to win this one I see. No surprise there after his display the other night against Ernests Gulbis. Murray also has a great record against Troicki, having won both their previous matches with ease. Their first encounter also came on a slick surface - indoors in St Petersburg last autumn - and Murray who 6-3 6-3. I saw that match and he really did dominate. It was even easier for the Briton when they met in Miami this season, Murray winning 6-1 6-0.

1801 : Safina has the early break in the second set against Flipkens. It looks as if her troubles are behind her. On Court One,Gonzalez leads Ferrero 5-3.

1759 : Roddick's win means Andy Murray and Viktor Troicki will be on court shortly. Stay logged on.

1757 : Things are about to get a lot tougher for Roddick - next up is Tomas Berdych, while after that could be Lleyton Hewitt. Frankly I'd be surprised to see Roddick in the semis - I think once he comes up against a better returner, he'll find things much more difficult.

1755 : Roddick seals victory with an ace and he's made it nine wins out of nine against Melzer. The Austrian put up a good fight on this occasion but still had to bow to the sixth seed and his booming serve.

1752 : Murray get your shoes on! Roddick breaks again - what a turnaround in thisfourth set after serve had dominated for so long. It often happens this way as the players tire. Roddick will serve for a place in round four at 5-3.

1750 : Safina serves out the first set against Flipkens. That's crisis averted having earlier been set point down. 54 minutes is on the clock and that shows it's been a struggle for the top seed so far. I bet she's not too pleased to be on Court Two for the second match running.

1748 : The wait for Murray to appear goes on - Melzer breaks back against all the odds to get the fourth set against Roddick back on serve. Melzer to serve at 3-4. Surely he can't force a deciding set.

1747 : Safina-Flipkens is now the only outstanding match in the ladies' singles and the top seed has just broken to lead 6-5 - she's about to serve for the first set.

1746 : There will be no such problems today for Radwanska. She immediately retrieved her break and has just served out for a 6-4 7-5 over Na Li. She'll now play Jelena Jankovic's conqueror, Melanie Oudin.

1743 : Melzer is letting his frustration show on Centre as he finds trouble at 1-4 15-30. However, the Austrian manages to gee himself up to hold.

1741 : Safina holds to make it 5-5 against Flipkens. She's definitely living dangerously though. On Court One now, Fernando Gonzalez, seeded 10, is just starting against former world number one Juan Carlos Ferrero. Expect plenty of baseline rallies in that one. Ferrero has been playing well so there's a chance of an upset there.

1739 : On Court 18, Radwanska served for the match a moment ago against Na Li but it's back to 5-5 now in the second set. Match point went begging there. In the last round she missed match point in the second set before winning an epic in three. Is the pattern about to repeat itself?

1738 : Safina dumps a forehand into the net to hand Flipkens set point at 4-5 but she saves it by coming forward and producing a solid volley.

1736 : Roddick breaks for the first time in the match. Aided by a successful Hawk-eye challenge he gets to 15-40 and then Melzer pulls a forehand into the tramlines. He leads 3-1 in the fourth set and should now be able to serve out for a place in the last 16.

1733 : Gilles Simon, the eighth seed, gets few headlines but he's started well today against VIctor Hanescu, winning the first set 6-2 on Court Three.

1730 : Melzer holds for 1-1. So does Safina - 4-4 in her first set now.

1729 : Roddick has another chance to break Melzer's serve for the first time in the match, but he finds the net with a backhand. Roddick leads by two sets to one and 1-0 in the fourth.

1727 : OK, so Kuznetsova and Jankovic have both gone but could he day's biggest shock be still to come? Well, top seed Dinara Safina is in early trouble - she's just saved break point at 3-4 against Flipkens on Court Two.

1722 : Kuznetsova is the highest seed to fall in the women's draw - sixth seed Jelena Jankovic went out earlier today but this is arguably a bigger shock. Lisicki goes through to face another teenager, Caroline Wozniacki, in the last 16.

1721 : All over and the fifth seed is out! Kuznetsova goes into the tramlines with a backhand and 19-year-old Lisicki, the world number 41, has a notable scalp. The French Open champion is out. She just played too many poor shots today. It ws great determination to save four match points at the end but it wasn't enough. An awful birthday for the Russian.

1720 : Kuznetsova saves the match point with a wrong-footing forehand but another error brings up another chance. Meanwhile, Melzer serves out and it's back to two sets to one on Centre.

1719 : Kuznetsova is really throwing in some awful shots - a forehand goes yards long to give Lisicki a fourth match poinr.

1718 : Ground staff are gathering asMelzer steps up to serve for the third set at 5-4 - rain could be about to fall for the first time. The roof could get used at last!

1714 : Lisicki halts the run of three straight games against her - Kuznetsova will have to serve to stay alive for a second time at 5-6.

1712 : It's looking like Stanislas Wawrinka could be heading for a last-16 meeting with Andy Murray. He's now two sets to one up on Jesse Levine. Murray, of course, has yet to play. He's up after Roddick and Melzer - the Austrian is about to serve at 4-3.

1711 : The stuff of a champion from Kuznetsova. Clearly not playing well, she managed to hold. From 2-5 down and having faced three match points, she's got the second set back level at 5-5.

1710 : An awful forehand from Kuznetsova goes long and wide and brings up a third match point for Lisicki. A big serve gets her out of trouble again. This would be some escape.

1709 : A second chance to close out soon arrives as a Kuznetsova backhand drifts wide. Lisicki goes for a big forehand winner off the second serve but it's into the net! Drama on Court One here.

1708 : It's saved by the Russian. Superb depth forces her opponent to miscue a shot and Kuznetsova comes forward to slap it away.

1707 : Kuznetsova falls down 0-30 but battles back to 30-30 before double faulting! It's match point to Lisicki.

1706 : At last - a break of serve on Centre. Melzer's return to Roddick's feet causes too many problems and he has a 3-2 lead in the third set. Andy Murray may have to wait a little longer - he's next on Centre against Viktor Troicki remember.

1705 : Interesting comments from Tommy Haas after he returned to complete victory today in a match held over from last night. He and Marin Cilic stopped playing in the gloom at 6-6 in their final set yesterday and Haas wants floodlights installed so matches like that can be completed. "I don't know why they don't have lights here - maybe that is something for the future," he has told reporters. Of course, Centre can now finish under the lights with the roof. The Australian and US Opens can also play on many courts under lights. Perhaps it will happen in time.

1702 : The first sign of tightness from Lisicki - two shots wide allow Kuznetsova to break back. The French Open champion is hanging in there but she still trails by a set and 5-4. Another hold here is essential.

1701 : Melzer eventually holds for 2-2 in the third set and we are still awaiting the first break of serve!

1700 : Kuznetsova makes Lisicki serve it out - she's stepping up now at 5-3.

1659 : Roddick successfully challenges a Melzer 'ace' - despite being good friends Melzer doesn't look best pleased. However, the ball was out by 1mm the technology tells us so it was justified. It brings up another beeak point in this lengthy game but Melzer slams the door in his mate's face.

1657 : On on Court 18, Radwanska wins the first set 6-4 against Na Li. that one is going with the seedings.

1656 : No nerves yet from Lisicki as she holds to lead 5-2. This is about to become the biggest shock so far you feel. Kuznetsova doesn't have any answers as she tries to turn it around.

1654 : Break point Roddick - but it's saved with a nerveless lob from Melzer.

1652 : Kuznetsova in big trouble now - she's just lost here serve to fall 4-2 down in the second set. Lisicki is two games away from a famous victory!

1650 : Lisicki holds to lead 3-2 in the second set against Kuznetsova. The German is playing in the adidas kit that so many of the female players are wearing - the one with the famous three stripes in red. Apparently a lorry load of the adidas kit was stolen in London last week, but it doesn't seem to have stopped the company from supplying their players here!

1648 : Mauresmo servesout for a 7-5 6-3 win and she's back in the last 16 here. She'll play the winner of that Safina-Flipkens match. Great to see Amelie, a great grasscourt player, doing well again.

1646 : Former winner Mauresmo is now serving for the match against Pennetta at 5-3 in the second set.

1644 : Roddick holds in the opening game of the third set. The good news for Melzer is that Roddick has lost the third set in each of his matches so far. The bad news for the Austrian is he's never won a match from two sets down.

1642 : Top seed Dinara Safina will be next on Court Two. She's up against Elena Baltacha's conqueror Kirsten Flipkens. If Safina wins she'll be into the last 16 here for the first time in her career.

1640 : Hewitt misses a third match point but gets a fourth chance when Petzschner goes long. This one is taken, the German unable to control a tricky half-volley. Hewitt is through to face Stepanek. He really is looking good in SW19 - he's yet to drop a set and I'd say a Hewitt-Murray semi-final is a good bet as things stand in the top half of the draw. 7-5 7-6 6-3 was the score today.

1639 : A forehand error from Melzer gives Roddick a two-set lead. He wins the breaker 7-2. That second set was remarkably simialar to the first. Nothing between them - and no service breaks - but Roddick playing by far the better in the tie-break. He's on course for the last 16.

1638 : Two match points are saved by Petzschner - the first with great net coverage, the second with an ace. Meanwhile, Roddick crunches a forehand cross-court from a seemingly impossible angle to bring up four set points.

1636 : Melzer dumps a forehand into the net to hand Roddick the first mini-break at 3-1.

1634 : We've already had a shock today with Jelena Jankovic losing. Now another one could be on the cards - Lisicki has taken the first set against French Open champion Kuznetsova 6-2!

1633 : More British doubles woe to report - James Auckland and Elena Baltacha have lost 6-1 6-2 to fifth seeds Daniel Nestor and Elena Vesnina. Again no surprise - Nestor is one of the world's best doubles specialists. Meanwhile, Roddick holds easily so it's another tie-break.

1630 : Melzer holds for 6-5 and will now get 'free game' on the Roddick serve as he looks to level the match. By the way, there are plenty of umbrellas up on Centre Court. Don't worry though, they are being used as parasols today - it's a scorcher. The forecast suggested "isolated heavy showers" in the London area today, but it's looking good so far with blue skies around at present. Still no need for that new roof!

1627 : Hewitt converts the break to lead 4-2 - he's just two games away from a place in the fourth round and a meeting with Radek Stepanek.

1624 : The yellow-shirted Hewitt 'fanatics' are in full voice on Court Two. Their man has just broken serve to lead 3-2 in the third set having taken the first two. the noisy fans have got rid of several of the spectators from the row in front it seems! Hewitt is also celebrating, while wife Bec is applauding too. She used to be an actress in Home and Away but seems to be a professional tennis WAG these days - she's nearly always at her husband's matches. Only Mrs Federer, Mirka, pushes her close I reckon and even she's missed some matches lately, probably due to the fact she's pregnant.

1623 : Melzer holds with another ace. He leads 5-4 in the second set now. Meanwhile, news from Court Four is that Stanislas Wawrinka has taken the second set 7-5 to square his match with Jesse Levine. The winner could meet Andy Murray remember.

1622 : Melzer is hanging on for dear life here. He falls break point down again but produces a fantastic volley off his laces to win it. Back to deuce.

1621 : A second opportunity for Roddick soonfollows but again it's a superb response - a massive ace which leaves Roddick no chance.

1620 : Serving at 4-4, Melzer falls break point down for the first time in the match. A Hawk-eye challenge from Roddick forces him to replay the point but he steels himself and produces an ace to save it.

1618 : After that epic between Stepanek and Ferrer, Agnieszka Radwanska, the 11th seed, and Na Li are finally under way on Court 18. The winner there will fancy their chances of going even further - 17-year-old qualifier Melanie Oudin, who early beat Jelena Jankovic, awaits the winner.

1616 : Amelie Mauresmo is one of the most popular players among the fans at the All England Club, especially since winning here in 2006. Her supporters will therefore be happy with the news that she's just taken the first set 7-5 against Italy's Flavia Pennetta. She's another of my pre-tournament tips (10/1 to reach the semis) so I'm also cheering her on!

1614 : If you were wondering, Ivo Karlovic and Sam Querrey lead the serve speed list on the men's side - both have slammed one down at 141mph here. That's still well down on Roddick's all-time record of 155 - his best today is a paltry 136mph! It's 4-4 now between Roddick and Melzer on Centre.

1612 : Lisicki now leads 4-1! She's got one of the biggest serves in the ladies' game - a look at the serve speed leaders has her second to Venus Williams so far at this tournament. She's managed 122mph in the previous rounds - 120 is her best so far today.

1609 : A scrappy start for Kuznetsova has seen her fall 3-1 down to Lisicki. My prediction is already looking dodgy!

1604 : There are still no breaks of serve on Centre after a set and a half. Melzer leads 3-2 in the second having lost the first on a tie-break.

1602 : Kuznetsova and Lisicki have traded breaks of serve at the start of their clash on Court One.

1600 : Well, I didn't expect this - Stepanek has just wrapped up victory over 16th seed David Ferrer, claiming the final set 6-4. It's only Ferrer's third defeat in 14 five-set matches. He'll now face Hewitt or Petzschner. It's looking like Hewitt. He leads by two sets to love but has just missed two chances to break in the opening game of the third.

1558 : If you missed it earlier, thje big news from today so far is trhat sixth seed Jelena Jankovic is out. The former world number one struggled in the heat today, calling the doctor on court at one stage, as she lost in three sets to qualifier Melanie Oudin, of the USA. If you have any views on that one, or Jankovic's recent downfall in general, to can email me: andy.schooler@bskyb.com

1555 : Mauresmo has been pegged back by Pennetta - 3-3 in their first set - while out on Court 18, Stepanek is keeping his nose in front in the final set against Ferrer. They are into the business end of things now with the Czech 5-4 up but it remains on serve.

1553 : Hewitt's loving this - he takes the breaker 7-3 to open a two-set lead. He's been rolling back the years here this week and look set for the last 16. Surely he can't win back the title he claimed in 2002? Can he?

1548 : Warming up now on Court One are Svetlana Kuznetsova and Germany's Sabine Lisicki. The French Open champion will hope to celebrate her 24th birthday today with a victory. However, Lisicki can be an awkward customer - as she showed when winning on clay in Charleston earlier in the year. That was on clay though and Kuznetsova is a three-time quarter-finalist on the grass of SW19. 'Sveta' in straights has to be the best guess.

1546 : Serve has held sway throughout the second set on Court Two, so Hewitt and Petzschner will play a tie-break. Hewitt took the first set. Meanwhile, Amelie Mauresmo has drawn first blood against Pennetta - it's 3-1 in the early stages tothe former champion.

1544 : As he so often does, Roddick plays the big points in the tie-break so well. He takes it by seven points to two and claims a one-set lead. Melzer has played some good stuff, but he will know you have to play well at the key moments against Roddick - even more so now.

1542 : News from Court Four where Jesse Levine has claimed the first set 7-5 against Stanislas Wawrinka. Andy Murray fans will want to keep an eye on that one as the winner could meet the Briton in the last 16. Murray, remember, is up against Viktor Troicki after Roddick and Melzer are done.

1539 : Cilic hoiks a backhand over the baseline and after almost four an half hours on court, Haas claims victory. 10-8 is the score in the final set and the in-form German is through to meet Igor Andreev in round four. He's in fine form having impressed at the French Open and won the warm-up event in Halle. I'd make Haas favourite to reach the quarter-finals.

1538 : This time a backhand into the net give Haas his first match point. Meanwhile, Roddick and Melzer are into a tie-break.

1537 : Another break point - another forehand error from Cilic. This one hits the net cord and loops out. Deuce again.

1536 : Cilic creates the chance to level up but sends a forehand from half-court beyond the baseline. Deuce.

1535 : Melzer may not be tight, but Haas seems to be. From 30-0 he falls break point down with a double fault.

1531 : No sign of Melzer getting tight as he races through that service game to love. 5-5 against Roddick now. On Court Two, Lleyton Hewitt lead Petzschner 4-3 in a tight second set. It remains on serve.

1530 : Haas brings up two break points with a perfectly-executed backhand pass. Cilic goes long on the first of them and it's Haas who leads 9-8. He will serve for a place in the last 16.

1528 : Roddick uses his big serve to full effect, winning three straight points from 15-30. He leads 5-4 but Melzer is right with him. Can he handle the added pressure at the business end of the set though?

1526 : Another love hold for Haas. He's looked the better player upon the resumption here. 8-8.

1524 : Cilic 8-7 now in that final set against Haas.

1522 : As we suggested we might do earlier, Ferrer has indeed forced a final set against Stepanek. The Spaniard has taken the fourth set 6-4 and must now be the favourite, especially given that 11-2 record of his in five-set matches. In contrast, Stepanek is 10-15 in five-setters.

1519 : Haas holds to love to make it 7-7. Over on Centre, Melzer is more than holding his own against Roddick. The American has that famous big serve but the left-handed Austrian is also serving well in this first set - it's already six aces each. 3-3 is the first-set scoreline.

1516 : It's bit of a scrappy start from Cilic but he holds to 30 for a 7-6 lead. The same can be said of Roddick on Centre - he's just saved two break points against Melzer but leads 3-2.

1513 : OK, here go Cilic and Haas. Cilic was a break up last night before being pegged back. He has the advantage of serving first in this decider, which could go on and on!

1510 : British doubles pair Chris Eaton and Alex Slabinsky have lost lost in straight sets to Leos Friedl and David Skoch. No surprise that - the Czechs are an established doubles team. In truth, the Brits did will to qualify and win their first-round match.

1507 : Good news for Lleyton Hewitt fans - and he always has plenty on court with him - is that their man has taken the first set 7-5 against Petzschner. The opener had seemed destined for a tie-break but he broke in game 11 before serving it out. Good start for Hewitt, who took out fifth seed Juan Martin Del Potro in the previous round.

1505 : It's Agnieszka Radwanska or Na Li next for Oudin.Next on Court Three will be former champion Amelie Mauresmo, who is up against Flavia Pennetta.

1503 : A massive 'come on' greets a terrific backhand winner from Oudin which brings up two match points. She goes long on the first but on the second she comes up with a fine angle on the forehand to hit a clean winner. Jankovic is out - she's the highest seeded casualty of the tournament so far in the women's draw. The Graveyard of Champions has another high-profile victim, perhaps its clast before demolition next month. A tremendous win for Oudin, who came through qualifying remember.

1500 : Oudin breaks Jankovic again and is about to serve for a famous win at 5-2 in the final set.

1458 : All over on Court One, 6-2 6-3 6-2 is a convincing win if ever there was one against the 12th seed, Davydenko, for Tomas Berdych. He'll be delighted with his opening week. Next up will by Andy Roddick or Jurgen Melzer - they are about to start on Centre. Next on Court One is that unfinished business between Cilic and Haas, who were locked at 6-6 in the final set of their clash when it got too dark last night.

1455 : Another break of the Davydenko serve means Berdych is about to serve for the match on Court One. Oudin slams down an ace and leads 4-2. No signs of nerves from the teenager yet as she bids to topple sixth seed Jankovic.

1452 : Jankovic is now 3-1 down in her battles with the heat and Oudin in that final set. Venus, on the other hand, is not bothered by the soaring temperatures. "I'm a Florida girl - I needed a sweater!" she has just joked. On a more serious note, her assessment of her first week - "I'm right where I want to be and I'm loving it." She looks the one to beat and I can't see anything other than an all-Williams final based on what I've seen so far.

1449 : Venus completes victory on Centre. Suarez Navarro sends a forehand into the tramlines and the match is over. 6-0 6-4. The Spaniard certainly made a better fist of things in that second set and there were a couple of moments when she threatened to force a final set. However, Venus fended her off and it's been a near-perfect opening week for her. Perhaps she will get a tougher test on Monday against former world number one Ana Ivanovic. That should certainly be an interesting encounter.

1444 : Ferrer takes the third set against Stepanek on Court 18 6-3 and has a lifeline. The Spaniar has twice in his career come from two sets down to win, whil his record in five-setters is superb - 11 wins and just two losses. Stepanek needs to raise his game in the fourth set you feel.

1441 : After a tight period, it looks like normal service has been resumed on Centre. Having been taken to deuce in the previous game, Venus has just broken after a poor effort on serve from Suarez Navarro. The defending champion will now serve for the match at 5-4.

1437 : Well we did warn you - Jankovic has just lost a lengthy opening game of the decider on her own serve. Oudin, of course, lacks experience at this level but the win looks there for the taking at the moment.

1436 : No breaks on Court Two yet between Hewitt and Petzschner. Both men are holding easily so far. The Aussie leads 4-3.

1434 : The Danish flags are waving out on Court Four as Wozniacki has just clinched a 6-2 6-2 win over Medina Garrigues. She's through to meet Sabine Lisicki or fifth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova. The 18-year-old has now won eight straight matches since moving onto the grass and looks a match for most in this draw.

1432 : Venus is unable to convert three break points and now trails Suarez Navarro 3-4 in the second set on Centre. It's certainly more competitive now.

1431 : Berdych looks utterly dominant against Davydenko. He's now a break up in the third set. It looks likely to be thefinal one on Court One too.

1423 : It seems the latest treatment for Jankovic is unrelated - it's something to do with her foot.

1422 : Berdych now leads Davydenko by two sets to love - he's just taken the second set 6-3. No problems for the Czech it seems. Suarez Navarro makes it three straight games on Centre and now leads the second set 3-2 against Venus.

1420 : Jankovic sends a forehand wide to bring up set point and her 17-year-old opponent then blasts down her 28th winner of the match to level it at one set all. The qualifier is really fighting in this one and is playing some fine stuff. If you are just joining us, Jankovic had the doctor on court earlier as she struggled in the heat. She is continuing to ice herself down and has just called the trainer out again. You have to fancy Oudin now. An upset could be on the cards.

1418 : We may have written Suarez Navarro off a little too soon! She's just broken back, with Williams throwing in an untimely double fault on break point. Back to 2-2. This would be some comeback were the Spaniard to turn this around.

1416 : Any comments to make on the action? Email me: andy.schooler@bskyb.com

1414 : Aussie fans will want to know that Lleyton Hewitt has just started his third-round encounter with Philipp Petzschner down on Court Two. After his display against Juan Martin Del Potro on Thursday, you have to fancy the former world number one to win again.

1413 : The problems for Jankovic have just got bigger. She savs two break points at 5-5 but not a third, sending a backhand wide, and now Oudin will serve to take this match into a final set.

1411 : Suarez Navarro is on the board! It's now 2-1 in the second set and Venus won't be double-bagelling her. Still, it's a mountain to climb from here and hard to see her repeating that Australian Open victory. The Spaniard also made the last four at Roland Garros last season so is no mug, but she's been outclassed so far today.

1409 : Eight games in a row now from Williams on Centre. Outside, Wozniacki is now a set and 3-0 up. That's a welcome sight as the Danish star is my tip for the semi-finals!

1407 : A superb drop shot gets Oudin out of trouble at 15-30 - Jankovic stops to applaud the shot. The American duly holds and it's 5-5.

1404 : Wozniacki appears on course to a comfortable victory. She's taken the opening set 6-2 against Medina Garrigues. Next door, Oudin is now serving to stay in the match agains Jankovic at 4-5.

1402 : Berdych has finally lost his serve! the Czech had opened a 3-1 lead in the second set against Davydenko, but the Russian immediately hit back and is now serving at 2-3.

1400 : Venus polishes off the first set 6-0 with an ace. It's perhaps been closer than that scoreline suggests - there have been a few deuce games - but Venus is really in total control. She's already blasted 14 winners.

1359 : Melanie Oudin yells out a 'come on' as she holds to level at 4-4 against Jankovic. With the Serb struggling in the heat you sense if Oudin can win this second set and force a decider, she'll become the favourite.

1356 : One match we haven't mentioned is over on Court 18 where Radek Stepanek leads David Ferrer by two sets to love. 7-5 7-5, but the Czech has also been struggling in the heat so don't write off Ferrer just yet. On Centre, it's now 5-0 Venus and Suarez Navarro just can't handle the quality of the defending champion.

1354 : See-saw stuff on Court Three as Jankovic again retrieves a break of serve and now leads by a set and 4-3. She's currently instructing the ball boy where to hold the umbrella in a bid to protect her from the heat. We are up near 30 degrees Celsius in London today.

1352 : Cilic and Haas will be on Court One after Berdych and Davydenko. It's now 2-1Berdych in the second set, the Czech having won the opener.

1350 : Andreev finishes off Seppi by winning the tie-break 7-5. A fine drop shot grabbed the mini-break and Seppi went wide on the following point. A four-set win for the Russian takes him through to a meeting with Marin Cilic or Tommy Haas - they must also finish their match today having been halted at 6-6 in the decider last night.

1347 : Venus looks in dominant form once again. She's hardly put a foot wrong today, or indeed in her other two matches so far. It's now 4-0 on Centre. For the record, Venus again has her knee taped up today. She flat-batted questions about the problem the other day, essentially saying it was nothing to worry about. It certainly doesn't seem to be bothering her.

1343 : Problems for Jankovic in her match and worrying scenes. She's needed treatment from the doctor for what look like a problem related to the heat. She's had her blood pressure taken t. However, she's playing on and has just got the break back against Oudin. Brave stuff from the Serb.

1342 : Seppi stands firm to take the fourth set with Andreev into a tie-break. The Italian must win it to stay alive.

1341 : Another break of serve for Berdych sees him take the first set 6-2 against Davydenko. The Czech has been in fine form so far in SW19 and, as I said earlier, has not lost a single service game at the tournament. He is often accused to collapsing when things don't go his way, but as long as the confidence is high he's a tough player to beat. If he wins today, he could play Andy Roddick next.

1340 : Down on Court Two, Igor Andreev and Andreas Seppi have just resumed their match, which was halted in the fading light last night. Andreev has taken today's opening game and, with a two-sets-to-one lead, if he breaks now with Seppi serving at 5-6, he'll reach the last 16.

1338 : Jankovic may have won the first set againt Oudin, but she's just fallen 2-0 down in the second. Next door on Court Four, Wozniacki leads 3-1 in her opening set. The Eastbourne champion has started well.

1335 : It's another fast start from Venus. She immediately pressurises the Suarez Navarro serve and breaks in the opening game before holding her own delivery to 15. 2-0 already. It looks as if Venus is determined to avenge the shock defeat she suffered against the Spaniard at the Australian Open in January.

1327 : As always, your emails are welcome and we will publish the best. Perhaps you want to comment on Andy Murray, due on court later against Viktor Troicki. Will he have any trouble today? Or perhaps you want to tell me if anyone other than the Williams sisters can lift the trophy this year. Ivanoviv v Venus would at least be a competitive match, you feel. Email me - andy.schooler@bskyb.com - with your views.

1325 : Berdych grabs the early break on Court One to lead 3-1 - he has yet to drop his serve at the tournament. Down on Court Four, ninth seed Caroline Wozniacki has just started against Ana Medina Garigues. We will keep you posted.

1321 : All over on Court Two as Ivanovic serves out for a 7-5 6-2 win. She's into the last 16 and could next face defending champion Venus Williams. Venus is about to start on Centre against Carla Suarez Navarro. The reason they have yet to begin is the now traditional introduction of celebrities who have been invited to the Royal Box today. Several Olynpians are there today - Victoria Pendleton for instance - and, fo course, plenty of the tennis glitterati, including nine-time champion here Martina Navratilova.

1318 : Ivanovic had a match point against Stosur, but the 18th seed held her nerve and her serve to win the game and make it 2-5. Ivanovic will now serve for the match. Meanwhile, Jankovic wins the tie-break 10-8 after a realtussle to win the first set against Oudin.

1312 : It's a real nip and tuck tie-break on Court 3 with Jankovic and Oudin 6-6.

1302 : The players are warming up on the show courts as Davydenko prepares to take on Tomas Berdych on Court 1. Meanwhile, it's Venus Williams against Carla Suarez Navarro on Centre.

1300 : A long rally looked to have been won by Oudin as she drew Jankovic in, but the American planted her intended passing shot into the net. That was at deuce, and eventually after a bitter struggle Jankovic forced a tie-break. Ivanovic is racing through the second set and leads 4-0 on Court 2.

1252 : Solid service game from Oudin makes it 6-5 and Jankovic has to serve out for the breaker. Meanwhile, Ivanovic is already a break up in the second set.

1250 : Ivanovic's compatriot Jankovic fails to show the same composure on Court 3. A fierce forehand is overhit on break point so Oudin is level again at 5-5.

1247 : A sliced backhand from Stosur doesn't make it over the net and Ivanovic skips back to her seat content with a 7-5 win in the first set.

1245 : Ivanovic immediately hits back against Stosur for a timely break, and will now serve for the opening set herself at 6-5.

1242 : Ivanovic cruises through her service game to take it to 5-5 in the first. Over on Court 3, Stosur shows some bottle to hold her serve and save a set point. Jankovic will serve for the opening set now at 5-4.

1240 : Stosur holds well to go 5-4 up on Ivanovic. Bit of pressure on the 13th seed now.

1234 : Back over on Court 2 Stosur breaks back against Ivanovic after the Serb can only find the net following a weak second serve. 4-4 in that one and it's game on.

1232 : Jankovic has broken Oudin again. The American served two double faults and that has given the sixth seed control in the opening set. She leads 4-3 and is about to serve.

1230 : With two super Serbians in action at the moment, I don't know where to look. A quick glance at over at Court 3 suggest it's with serve at 3-3 between Jankovic and Oudin, but both players have broken each other once.

1222 : Early break for Ivanovic on Court 2. She's started well. Stosur threw it away to be honest, perhaps it was early nerves. She's settled down now and and has just served out to trail 3-2, but has work to do to get back in the set.

1208 : My early optimism has taken a slight knock. There's a bit of fluffy cloud about apparently - and that means a 30-40 per cent chance of rain. Mind you, my mathematics tells me that's a 60-70 per cent chance we'll have a dry day. So it's not all bad.

1200 : Middle Saturday at SW19 is about to kick into gear as sixth seed Jelena Jankovic warms up on Court Three. She takes on Melanie Oudin of the USA, who did well to overcome Yaroslava Shvedova in three sets the other day.

1130 : Welcome to day six at Wimbledon 2009! The weather is glorious (confidently predicting no roof action today), which means there is just as much sun cream about as the fresh stuff for the strawbs. With it sweltering off court, the action on the grass isn't half bad either, with Venus Williams, Andy Roddick and Andy Murray all aiming to progress to round four on Centre. The great Scot is on last, possibly about 4ish, against Viktor Troicki. On Court One we've got Nikolay Davydenko, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Fernando Gonzalez and a thriller to complete between Tommy Haas and Marin Cilic. They failed to finish last night and it's Haas who leads 7-5 1-6 6-7 (3) 6-6. First up, though, it's Ladies' Singles action on Court 2 as 18th seed Samantha Stosur takes on one of my personal favourites, 13th seed Ana Ivanovic. You can follow all the action live here all day long from about midday.
