Has long been regarded as a star in the making by followers of the WTA Tour, but the Czech teenager hit the mainstream with her run to the semi-finals of the French Open last year when she beat world number one Amelie Mauresmo and Venus Williams. The sixth youngest player to win a WTA Tour title - aged just 15 years and three months – Vaidisova now has six wins to her name, although none this season. Reached the third round as a 16-year-old in 2005 and went one better last year, while this season she has reached the last four in Australia and last eight at Roland Garros.
