VERDICT
This young Czech has been enjoying an excellent season so far. It started with a run to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open where she beat defending champion Amelie Mauresmo. Safarova repeated her victory over the Frenchwoman at Roland Garros en route to the last 16, while she also appeared in the Paris Indoors final. Finished runner-up on grass at Hertogenbosch in 2005 and given what she's achieved so far this term, it will be no great surprise if she puts together a good run here.
