The German cracked the top 100 back in 2002 - when she won her only WTA title - but then tumbled down the rankings, falling outside of 300 at one stage. Has worked her back back up, using the 'second division' ITF circuit to good effect to notch up wins and ranking points. However, she prefers the claycourts and has done little on grass in the past to suggest that she be able to progress beyond the early rounds here.
