| A five-time Grand Slam winner, Hingis claimed her first and, to date, only Wimbledon title as a 16-year-old in 1997, when she won three Grand Slam events and lost in the final of the other. Since returning after her three-year retirement she has yet to go beyond the quarter-finals of a major and a hip injury suffered in Germany in May forced her to miss the French Open. Is sure to use her tactical game to out-think opponents, too many of whom are one-dimensional these days. A lack of power may hurt her though at the business end of the tournament. |
