| This Russian-born teenager made huge strides early in her career, climbing an amazing 318 places in the rankings in 2004. She has struggled to maintain her progress, although her maiden title in Amelia Island in April helped to take her to a career-high of 16th. Reached the fourth round here on her debut in 2004 but has made no impact since and her Grand Slam best remains a US Open quarter-final last year.
