| This huge server looked in a sorry state when he was sent packing from SW19 by Andy Murray 12 months ago. However, he then hired Jimmy Connors as coach and his fortunes have since soared. A fine summer hardcourt run followed which culminated in a US Open final defeat to Roger Federer - and therein lies his problem. The Swiss has been a real nemesis and had it not been for Federer then Roddick would surely already be a Wimbledon champion.
