| The reigning champion will be chasing Bjorn Borg's record of five consecutive titles this year - a feat which would boost his claim to being the greatest player ever to pick up a racquet. Federer would have been all but guaranteed to be regarded as the greatest had he not lost the recent French Open final, but once again arch rival Rafael Nadal proved too good. If they meet again, it should be a different story on the slicker grass, but Federer's loss at Roland Garros may have hit him harder than thought as he duly pulled out of Halle, thus altering his usual pre-Wimbledon routine. That's about the only straw his rivals have to clutch though and it will be a huge upset to see him beaten in SW19. |
