Murray - return delayed.

British number one Andy Murray's return from a wrist injury may keep him out until the end of the month.

The 20-year-old, who suffered the injury during the Hamburg Masters in May, was hoping to play in the Countrywide Classic in Los Angeles starting on July 16.

However, it now looks more likely that he will not be fit to return to action until the Legg Mason Classic in Washington DC, which begins on July 29.

Murray's mother Judy said: "He's got to have a little bit more rest, and it's going to take a little bit longer than maybe he had originally hoped, but he's definitely on the mend.

"He is going to stick around in London for another week or so and see the specialist again next Wednesday, I think, before he heads out to the States.

"It's really important for him that he has the physio and specialist around him until we're absolutely sure that he is over it."

The injury has already forced Murray to miss two grand slam events - the French Open and Wimbledon.
