Williams celebrates her win.

2010: Centre Court erupts as Murray fires a backhand volley down the middle from the net to put the pair into the mixed-doubles final on Sunday, winning 6-4 4-6 6-4. There they will play either Jonas Bjorkman & Alicia Molik or Fabrice Santoro & Severine Bremond, who play their semi early tomorrow. That's it for Saturday's action, a day which saw Venus Williams win her fourth singles title, and no surprises in the men's draw, with both Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal through to the final. Join us tomorrow from 1200 BST for live updates.

2007: Nestor holds, but now Murray has the chance to serve for the match.

2005: Jankovic serves out to move the pair to within one game of a place in the final.

1951: The plot thickens rather - Nestor and Likhovtseva break back straight away, but remember the home favourites still have that one break in their pockets. 3-1 now in the last.

1945: It's a double break in the last for Murray and Jankovic - they now lead 3-0.

1938: Murray and Jankovic hit straight back, breaking serve in the first game of the final set thanks to a combination of good play and a horribly missed volley from Nestor at the net.

1932: Murray and Jankovic have lost the second set, after a couple of brilliant shots from Nestor broke in the final game. The semi-final goes into a final set.

1856: They've taken advantage of that break, and have claimed the first set 6-4. The pair are playing some truely excellent tennis, especially considering that they only finished their quarter-final just before 1700 BST.

1839: Murray and Jankovic have started well - they are a break up, leading 3-2 in the first with Murray serving.

1823: Jankovic and Murray are out to a rapturous reception on Centre for their second game in two hours.

1808: Santoro and Bremond have won in three sets, 6-2 3-6 6-4. Murray and Jankovic will play Nestor and Likhovtseva next, to the delight of the Centre Court crowd, half of whom were gathering their coats before they were told of the next match.

1728: Murray and Jankovic's semi-final will be on Centre Court after the current mixed-doubles quarter-final between Leander Paes & Meghann Shaughnessy and Fabrice Santoro & Severine Bremond finishes. Santoro has just served out the second set to make it 1-1 going into the decider.

1710: Murray and Jankovic will play Daniel Nestor and Elena Likhovtseva, who beat British pair Alex Bogdanovich and Melanie South earlier in the day. They should play later on this evening, but where is not yet clear.

1658: After passing up six match points, Murray and Jankovic finally close it out to take their place in the semi-finals.

1650: However - they've broken back now and Jankovic will serve for the match.

1643: Murray and Jankovic have let their lead slip slightly. They have been broken back in the third and now trail 5-4.

1622: In the mixed-doubles, Murray and Jankovic have lost the second set on a tie-break. It's 1-1 now, but they already have a break in the final set, which they lead 2-1.

1552: A slightly tearful Bartoli thanks her father in the crowd, who gives Williams' old man a hug in the player's box.

1551: The Duke of Edinburgh presents the famous dish to Williams for the fourth time, and Bartoli gets a great reception from the Centre Court crowd.

1547: But she can't save another, as Williams' serve is too powerful and the return balloons up in the air. Good effort from Bartoli, but in the end Williams was simply too good and too powerful, and she takes a deserved fourth Wimbledon singles title, 6-4 6-1.

1546: The first is saved when Williams goes long with a forehand.

1546: Williams brings up two Championship points with a brilliant cross-court backhand that gives Bartoli no chance.

1545: Williams takes the first couple of points with some ease, but then goes long and takes it to 30-15.

1543: Williams converts that point to take a 5-1 lead in the second, and will now serve for her fourth Wimbledon title.

1542: Bartoli has a chance to close the game out, but a couple of wide shots sets up another break-point for Williams.

1539: Bartoli saves the break-point with a cracking cross-court forehand that skims the top of the net.

1538: Williams really means business now - she nails a perfect forehand down the line for a return winner, then sets up a break-point by forcing Bartoli to net a volley.

1536: The trainer is back out for Williams, but it looks like this time it's just to tidy up some of that strapping.

1534: Williams follows up that winner with a brutal serve that jumps up and hits Bartoli on the finger, then closes out the game with a cross-court forehand.

1533: After netting a couple of easy shots, Bartoli gives herself an ironic round of applause when she hits a winner.

1531: Bartoli very efficiently closes out the first game after that break to get on the board in the second set.

1529: Finally the players are back on court, and some tennis is being played.

1528: Williams is on her feet again - she now has some reasonably heavy strapping high up on her left thigh, presumably hence why the cover was required.

1527: Sure-fire sign that the crowd is bored - the Mexican wave is going round Centre Court.

1525: Now, bizarrely enough, Williams has called for the trainer. She is lying on the ground, with some officials discreetly shielding the treatment from the crowd with a towel, so lord knows what is going on behind there.

1520: Bartoli has called for the trainer between games, but it only looks like she needs some dressing on a blistered foot changing, so she should be OK to carry on.

1519: Over on Court Three, Jamie Murray and Jelena Jankovic have won the first set of their mixed-doubles quarter-final on a tie-break.

1518: Williams holds to take a 3-0 lead in the second. It will take another epic effort from Bartoli to claw this one back now.

1515: Williams finally takes the best game of the match so far with a cracking backhand down the line. 2-0 now in the second set.

1513: Williams brings up the third break-point of the game by cutting off a lob with a great backhand overhead past Bartoli.

1511: Williams gets straight back on the attack, and gains another break-point after Bartoli goes wide......but she nets to bring it back to deuce.

1510: Bartoli saves the break after an epic rally that looked like it was over two or three times before Williams finally misses with a backhand down the line.

1509: Bartoli misses with a forehand to set up a break-point for Williams.

1506: Despite that double-fault, Williams closes out the game with a wonderful sliced forehand down the line.

1505: Williams double-faults to let Bartoli back into a service game - that's six for the match already now.

1501: However, she can't save another after Williams stretches her with some nice groundstrokes, then comes into the net for the kill, volleying a winner to take the first set 6-4.

1500: Bartoli saves one with a cross-court backhand after Williams comes to the net, looking to close the set out.

1458: Williams brings up two break and set points with a powerful forehand.

1457: All of a sudden Williams has started letting out primal screeches as she hits the ball - she must mean business.

1455: Williams holds her serve to love with some ruthless tennis, hitting groundstroke winners and even a volley at the net.

1453: Bartoli closes out a tough service game with a nice cross-court backhand that leaves Williams grasping.

1448: Bartoli is definitely stretching Williams here. The American has to play a wide range of powerful and well-placed shots just to hold onto her serve, which she just about manages to do.

1444: After two such brilliant shots, it almost seems a shame when the game is decided by a couple of unforced errors. Williams nets then hits a forehand wide to give Bartoli the game - 3-3 now.

1442: Bartoli plays a cracking backhand through the tiniest of gaps down the line for a winner, but Williams betters it next point with a backhand cross-court on the run.

1440: She saves the first when Bartoli goes long with a forehand, but Williams goes long herself to give the Frenchwoman a break. 3-2 now, and Bartoli is settling down after those early nerves.

1439: All of a sudden Williams hands Bartoli two break-points with a double-fault.

1436: And Bartoli finally gets on the scoreboard after Williams goes wide with a cross-court forehand. 3-1 now to the three-times champion.

1434: Bartoli has a chance to close out the game, but again she double-faults. She will have to cut out the unforced errors if she is even to stay in this final.

1432: Bartoli double-faults to give Williams another break-point.....but the American goes long with a forehand and it's back to deuce.

1430: It's clear who the crowd want to win this one. Bartoli fires a winner down the middle after Williams comes to the net, and the cheers ring out over Centre Court.

1429: Meanwhile over on Court Three, Jamie Murray & Jelena Jankovic have started their mixed-doubles quarter-final against Marcin Matkowski & Cara Black.

1428: Williams races through another service game to take a rapid 3-0 lead after just 11 minutes of the first set.

1425: And she claims the break after Bartoli double-faults. 2-0, and Venus is looking comfortable so far.

1424: Williams sets up a break-point with a forehand that is just out of Bartoli's reach.

1423: Bartoli unsuccessfully queries a wide serve call.

1421: Bartoli might not have the most attractive style of play, but it's certainly effective, as Justine Henin will testify. She cuts Williams out of a point with a cracking cross-court forehand.

1418: Williams takes the first game to love, with Bartoli looking understandably nervous.

1416: Williams won the toss, and will serve first from the Royal Box end.

1410: And so on to the ladies final. Nobody really gives Marion Bartoli a chance against three times champion Venus Williams, but then again nobody thought she would beat Jelena Jankovic, and absolutely nobody thought she had a sniff against Justine Henin last night. Can she complete a remarkable upset?

1356: And all of a sudden the other semi is over. After Nadal held to go 4-1 up, Djokovic calls for the trainer and decides that he can't continue. Brave effort from the Serb, but that was the sensible decision really - he was truely running on empty.

1352: And he's through - Federer is into his fifth successive Wimbledon final, beating the Frenchman Gasquet 7-5 6-3 6-4.

1351: Federer goes to match-point with a magnificent cross-court backhand that left Gasquet grasping at thin air.

1349: Nadal holds in a game that featured a stunning inside-out forehand across the court, giving Djokovic no chance. 3-1 now in the third, and the trainer is once again lurking.

1348: Gasquet delays Federer's progression by a couple of games by holding. The champion will now serve for the match.

1346: Federer again holds to go within one game of the final.

1346: And he takes the break as the visably fading Djokovic nets a forehand.

1345: Nadal sets up a break point with a thunderous forehand that Djokovic can't handle.

1343: Some glorious play from Federer brings him perhaps the decisive break in the third set. A fantastic backhand down the line seals the break, and it's only a matter of time now.

1342: Again Djokovic battles well, but can't prevent Nadal holding to make it 1-1 in the third set.

1341: Federer levels things in the third with another comfortable service game.

1339: Gasquet does well to hold once more. The third is going with serve so far.

1338: Nadal tries to pull Djokovic all around the court to exploit his injury/ies, but the Serb isn't having any of it and produces some dogged tennis to hold.

1336: Djokovic battles well to save two break points from Nadal after that lengthy injury break.

1336: In a recurring theme, Federer yet again holds to love.

1334: Gasquet holds to love himself with some cracking strokes.

1332: Federer holds to love with an impressive display.

1330: The trainer appears to have been called for some work on Djokovic's toe, of all things. In truth he could've taken his pick of any number of ailments to fix on the Serb.

1329: Gasquet holds the first game of the third after several deuces, but takes it with a lovely whipped cross-court forehand.

1328: The trainer is a busy man. Having been hovering around Court One to wait for the inevitable call from Djokovic, he was called over to Centre for Gasquet, and now has had to hot-foot it back over to help the Serb. Meanwhile, Djokovic entertains the crowd - or half of them at least - by taking his shirt off while they wait.

1327: In the mixed doubles, Bogdanovich and South are out, losing 6-3 7-6 to Daniel Nestor & Elena Likhovtseva.

1325: Nadal serves out the second set to level things up in the match. 1-1, and Djokovic calls for the trainer, probably not for the last time in this match.

1323: Playing with badly restricted movement he may be, but Djokovic still manages to pull out the odd corking shot, whipping a forehand past Nadal on his backhand side.

1321: Break-point for Nadal against the ever-fading Djokovic....and he takes it when the Serb goes long with a cross-court forehand. 5-1 now, and the Spaniard is looking good.

1318: Gasquet calls for the trainer at the end of the second set. He seems to have some sort of problem with his left foot.

1317: Federer serves out the set in double quick time, holding to love to go 2-0 up, and heading towards his ninth successive grand-slam final.

1315: Gasquet serves to stay in the second, and does so with some serve-volleying of all things.

1314: With Djokovic stretching various parts of his ailing body after almost every point, Nadal holds to 15 to go 4-1 up in the second.

1312: In the doubles, the Bryans are through to the final, winning their semi 7-6 6-4 7-6. Meanwhile in the ladies, Black and Huber win their semi 6-4 4-6 6-1.

1311: Federer serves out a comfortable game with an ace, despite an unsuccessful challenge from Gasquet.

1311: Despite his obvious discomfort, Djokovic holds to get on the board in the second set.

1310: Gasquet again struggles through a service game, butmanages to hold.

1308: Djokovic really does not look happy - he's surviving at the moment by firing forehands from the baseline, but there is every chance that he might not finish this match.

1307: Federer holds to go 4-1 up in the second.

1307: The umbrellas are out in the crowd, but happily some resourceful souls are using them as parasols under the sun.

1306: Nadal holds to go 3-0 up in the second, but not before a couple of careless unforced errors.

1305: Gasquet manages to hold, but not before being given something of a run around.

1302: And he's glad he did - Nadal breaks after tirelessly chasing down a Djokovic drop-shot that he thought had won the point. Great play from the French Open champion.

1301: Federer holds easily - he's playing very well now.

1300: Djokovic thinks he's held after a forehand from Nadal is called long, but the Spaniard successfully challenges after being told to by his entourage in the crowd.

1257: Federer breaks Gasquet with a wonderful forehand down the line. This is more like it from the champion.

1256: Federer holds comfortably in the first game on the second on Centre.

1255: Nadal comes out strongly at the start of the second set - he powers his way to an impressive hold.

1253: There is still some British interest in the mixed doubles, but it's not going that well so far for Alex Bogdanovich and Melanie South. They lost the first set 6-4 to Daniel Nestor & Elena Likhovtseva, and are now 4-1 down in the second.

1252: Federer takes the break and the set after Gasquet nets a volley. He has looked far from his best, but has done just about what is needed so far.

1251: Gasquet is set-point down on his own serve over on Centre.

1250: Despite that challenge, Djokovic holds to love to take the first set 6-3. Remarkable performance so far from the Serb, helped by a strangely flat showing from Nadal.

1249: Nadal challenges an ace from Djokovic....not successfully as it clips the line.

1248: Nadal serving to stay in the first, but he holds to love with an impressive array of power forehands.

1247: Federer goes on to hold with some cracking whipped top-spin forehands. 6-5 to the Swiss.

1245: Break-point for Gasquet over on Centre......but Federer saves with a nice forehand down the line.

1244: Djokovic holds after Nadal just misses in chasing down a beautiful backhand drop-shot.

1243: Gasquet is given a bit of a run-around by Federer, but still manages to hold to level the first set.

1241: Nadal looks to be getting into his stride now. He holds to 15, closing the game out with a powerful double-handed backhand down the line.

1239: Federer holds comfortably to edge ahead once more against Gasquet, still going with serve.

1237: Djokovic holds to 15 to take a 4-1 lead in the first. There is every chance the Serb is just running on adrenaline so far - will those marathon last two games catch up with him as the game goes on?

1236: Gasquet holds comfortably once more. Much has been made of the fact that Federer has been on court for about half of the time of his main rivals, but perhaps that has been detrimental, as he's not performing to his usual magnificent standards so far.

1234: Nadal finally gets on the board by serving out another tough game with an ace.

1233: Terry Wogan makes his way into the stands on Centre, as does Maggie Thatcher. Perhaps Marion Bartoli won't be quite so inspired by those two as she was by Pierce Brosnan.

1232: Federer holdswithout too much drama - going with serve so far on Centre Court.

1229: Gasquet holds to love in a game that featured a couple of brilliant backhand shots. 3-3 in the first.

1227: Djokovic holds to 15 to take an unexpected 3-0 lead in the first.

1226: Gasquet sets up a break-point in the fifth game, but Federer aces his way out of it and goes on to hold.

1225: Nadal saves the first, but nets a backhand to give Djokovic an unlikely break. Remarkable play from the Serb, he leads 2-0 in the first set.

1224: Djokovic plays a cracking forehand to set up three break points in Nadal's first service game.

1221: Gasquet plays a beautiful cross-court forehand and holds his second service game, after being put under some pressure by the Swiss champion.

1220: After a wonderful rally to take adavantage, Djokovic finally holds to take the first game of the match.

1219: Djokovic saves a third break point, but he doesn't look at all happy. He had some hamstring problems in his quarter-final against Marcos Baghdatis, and they look like they could be resurfacing.

1218: Djokovic saves two break points, the second with an excellent volley at the net.

1217: Federer holds to love with Gasquet barely getting a racquet to the ball.

1214: Gasquet holds in his first service game after Federer nets a back-hand. 1-1.

1212: They're underway on Court One - the patched up Djokovic will serve first.

1211: Gasquet takes Federer to deuce, but the defending champion still holds to make a solid start.

1210: First challenge of the day - Gasquet successfully queries a Federer 'ace' that went just long.

1207: Federer will serve first against Gasquet.

1205: If it were possible, Federer goes off as even hotter favourite in his semi against Gasquet following the Frenchman's marathon against Andy Roddick last night. Federer of course has only played four games after his walkover in round four against Tommy Haas.

1203: Nadal and Djokovic are out on Court One to start their semi. Djokovic has played a little over nine hours and ten sets of tennis in the past couple of days, so the Spaniard starts clear favourite in that match.

1159: The sunshine is positively glorious on Centre ahead of the Federer v Gasquet semi.

1158: The Bryans have taken their first set on a tie-break in the men's semi.

1156: Black and Huber have taken the first set 6-4 in their ladies doubles semi.

1127: Some action already underway - the men's doubles semi between the top-seeded Bryan brothers and Fabrice Santoro & Nenad Zimonjic on Court Two is currently 3-3 in the first set, going with serve. Also the ladies' doubles semi between sixth seeds Alicia Molik & Mara Santangelo and second seeded Cara Black & Liezel Huber is 3-3 in the first.

1120: Just a reminder that the men's semi-finals both get underway at 1200 BST - Roger Federer v Richard Gasquet on Centre Court, and Rafael Nadal v Novak Djokovic on Court One - followed by the ladies' final on Centre, no earlier than 1400 BST.

1115: The weather looks clear and sunny in SW19, although the meteorological bods reckon there could be a '25%' risk of rain at some point in the day.

1105: Welcome to an unusual final Saturday of Wimbledon. After the dreadful weather of the past fortnight, the tournament stages both men's semi-finals plus the ladies' final in what should be a thrilling day of action - let's hope we get can get through all the scheduled matches with no interruptions.
