1713 - Williams goes down injured.

2018: Just before the rain began, Jonas Bjorkman completed a straight sets win over Wayne Arthurs. It was also confirmed that play will begin again at 11am tomorrow on all courts.

2017: The rain suddenly begins to pour and the covers are hurriedly brought on. That's the end of play for the seventh day, with this match still to be finished and the winner having to play again tomorrow.

2014: Former champion Hewitt is a break up on Canas at 3-1 in their third set, with the match level. Davydenko and Monfils will come back tomorrow..

2013: Nadal slips behind the baseline and takes a moment to get to his feet. The second seed does not look happy.

2012: Mikhail Youzhny has completed a three-set victory over Jarkko Nieminen and will be the next opponent for Nadal or Soderling. Michaella Krajicek is also through after beating Laura Granville 6-3 6-4.

2011: Soderling goes long on the backhand and hands Nadal the first break of the fifth set - 2-1.

2010: No, Roddick v Mathieu has been postponed until tomorrow.

2010: Andy Roddick and Paul-Henri Mathieu are due next on Centre, but we await to see whether they will come out.

2008: After all the fuss, Nadal held serve. Over on Centre, Serena battled her way to match point on Hantuchova's serve and won it when the 10th seed netted a forehand. What a fight from Serena, but what a collapse from Hantuchova who was playing well before her opponent got injured.

2006: No love lost between Nadal and Soderling. Soderling delays the start of the fifth set by getting a new racquet and Nadal sarcastically holds up the ball to ask if he's ready on his return. Soderling turns away, tugging at the back of his shorts in a gesture he must understand, but thankfully I don't.

2003: Soderling passes the test of character with flying colours. A love service game sees out the set and takes the match into a decider against an increasingly rattled opponent.

2002: After saving break point, Serena finishes the game with an ace for a 5-2 lead.

2001: Nadal forces Soderling to serve out the set. Hantuchova misses a break point with another nervy backhand.

1958: Canas has won that second set against Hewitt 6-3 to level the match.

1957: Soderling is inspired now, a solid service game takes him 5-3 ahead. Nadal is unhappy with the light and the slippery conditions underfoot, and that missed match point must be nagging at him more than ever...

1954: Break point for Serena after a woeful backhand, low into the net from Hantuchova. Hantuchova repeats the mistake and suddenly she's a break down and looking utterly fragile. Canas has broken Hewitt to lead 5-3 in the second set, with Hewitt a set up.

1953: Nadal is on the back-foot - a double fault takes him to 0-40. Soderling returns wide and forces another error from the Spaniard, who nets a forehand and falls 4-3 behind.

1949: Serena asks the umpire for permission to take a toilet break and reacts angrily when her request is refused. She's been taking on plenty of liquids to aid her recovery, with predictable consequences....Nadal and Soderling are now level at 3-3.

1945: Serena's injury appears to be easing - she's running it off. A brilliant forehand winner completes a good service game and she leads 3-2. The momentum is shifting back to her.

1944: Having said that, Serena has fought back from 40-0 to deuce on the Hantuchova serve. Power is her only weapon, she's giving every shot everything. Hantuchova scrapes through to hold for 2-2 while a love service game puts Nadal 3-2 ahead.

1943: Soderling holds for 2-2. Serena has to break serve at some stage and at the moment it's hard to see that happening.

1940: Serena holds, she's putting up a tremendous fight.

1935: Serena nets a forehand at 40-30 on serve and then cracks her racquet on the turf in frustration. Nadal holds after a stubborn fight from Soderling for a 2-1 lead in the fourth.

1931: A powerful service game keeps Soderling on level terms in the fourth set. Serena is only involved if she's not required to move, although so far Hantuchova has failed to ask any questions of her.

1930: Serena is serving up at 120mph and it's enough for her to hold serve in the opening game.

1929: The first game of the fourth set goes to Nadal on serve. He looked annoyed with himself after missing a match point in that tie-break and being kept out on court.

1926: A solid return from a weak second serve is enough to stretch Hantuchova's lead to 5-2 in the tie-break. Two big serves complete the set. Serena is not moving properly and if Hantuchova can hold her nerve the third set should be a mis-match.

1925: Jelena Jankovic was due on court next - she may as well go home.

1924: A huge ace out wide from Soderling wins the set and extends the match. Nadal leads 2-1.

1923: Nadal mis-hits a forehand under pressure and Soderling has the chance to serve for the set.

1917: So, if we can just get through the warm-up without further rain, Nadal will serve at 7-7 in the third set tie-break, leading Soderling by two sets. Serena is 4-2 down to Hantuchova in their second set tie-break.

1916: The signs are that Serena will be fit to continue her match although as she walks onto court she is evidently limping.

1904: The covers are beginning to come off but it remains cold and damp. If the rain holds off there may be some play in around half an hour.

1855: Austrian teenager Tamira Paszek has caused a stir with her victory over 12th seed Elena Dementieva to set up a fourth round clash with Svetlana Kuznetsova, but she's taking it all in her stride. "I never have any expectations before a tournament. I just go there, try to perform my best and be happy with my performance," she said. "It's probably the biggest tournament I've reached so far. It's unbelievable for me, such a great experience to play all these top players."

1846: With the schedule slipping further behind, Richard Gasquet's match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has been moved to Court Three to follow the conclusion of the Bjorkman-Arthurs match.

1835: The rain is getting heavier and there'll certainly be no play in the near future. Whether there is any more play today has to be questionable, but then the showers have tended to move through quite quickly throughout the day.

1811: It's raining again. The covers are back on. Good news for Serena, whose injury has just been described as a 'spasm-induced calf strain'. Whether that's good news or not, I have no idea.

1804: The covers are being removed once again and that is not good news for Serena, who would have hoped for a longer delay to allow her to receive as much treatment as possible on that injured calf.

1733: Away from the drama on the showcourts, Krajicek is 4-1 up and serving in the second set against Granville, seemingly heading for the quarter-finals. Hewitt is serving at 3-4 in the second set against Canas. Nieminen trails Youzhny by two sets but has a 2-1 lead with a break in the third. Davydenko is two sets and a break up at 3-0 against Monfils and Djokovic and Kiefer are on serve at 2-2 in the second.

1731: It's Nadal's turn for match point as the rain starts to fall. A forehand is called wide, Nadal challenges but is unsuccessful and the players are called off court. Serena's prayers are answered as she gets to hobble back to the locker room at 2-4 in her tie-break.

1730: Soderling smashes long on set point and it's 6-6 as the players change ends for the second time.

1728: Set point to Soderling at 6-5 on Court One. On Centre, Hantuchova wins the first three points of the tie-break against an opponent who can't move but who can still deliver powerful shots from a standing start.

1726: From 2-3, Soderling battles back to lead 5-4 with the tie-break back on serve.

1725: Davydenko has recovered from a break down to win the second set 7-5 against Monfils and Serena has held for a tie-break against Hantuchova.

1725: Nadal gets 3-2 ahead in the tie-break with two serves to come. Remarkably, despite her lack of mobility, Serena moves to 40-15 on serve.

1723: Baghdatis has beaten Nalbandian, who put little into the final set judging by the 0-6 scoreline.

1721: The game looks to be up for Serena, who tries to play on but can't put any weight on her left leg. She's in tears as she walks back to her seat for the changeover at 5-6. She'll have a minute to have more massage but things look bleak. Nadal and Soderling, meanwhile, are into a third set tie-break.

1718: Djokovic and Youzhny are the respective tie-break winners and Baghdatis is running away with it against Nalbandian, leading 4-0 in the third set.

1718: It's 30-15 to Hantuchova on serve, but Serena is receiving treatment behind the baseline having become injured between points. She is now well into her permitted three minutes.

1716: Krajicek has secured a break in the first game of the second set, but things are looking bad for Serena who screams in pain as ice is applied to her injured calf.

1714: Soderling can't find a third consecutive break of the Nadal serve so it's 5-5 in the third set.

1713: On Centre Court, Hantuchova has just mis-hit a serve so badly that it bounced on her side of the net first. At the other end of the court, Serena appears to be suffering from cramp in her left calf and looks in a bad way.

1712: Bjorkman has broken again for a 4-0 lead against Arthurs having taken the first set. Remember Arthurs is to retire once his tournament is over.

1711: Serena has won three games in a row to level the second set at 5-5, while Krajicek has taken the first set 6-3 against Granville.

1710: Nadal breaks back immediately for 4-5, beating Soderling with a stunning top-spin lob before confirming the break on a double fault.

1708: Having each broken once in the first set, Djokovic and Kiefer are into a tie-break, as are Youzhny and Nieminen in their second set.

1707: It's all happening now on the showcourts: Soderling earns another break point against Nadal and takes it for 5-3 with a powerful forehand that Nadal can't return. On Centre Court, Serena gets to 0-40 against the Hantuchova serve and the Slovak can only save the first of the three break points. So Serena is back on serve at 4-5.

1706: Baghdatis is a break up on Nalbandian in the third set and looks to be cruising to victory, while Bjorkman, 35, is 3-0 up with a break against Arthurs, 36.

1702: A big ace concludes another Soderling service game and he leads 4-3 in the third set.

1700: On Court 13, Monfils is a break up on Davydenko at 3-2 in the second set, although he trails by a set. The British duo Richard Bloomfield and Jonny Marray haveput out the 16th seeds in the doubles, winning in four sets against Fyrstenburg and Kubot.

1659: Hantuchova is looking more and more confident and she holds for 5-2.

1659: Soderling is really fighting for this, forcing three break points in the sixth game. Mistakes on the backhand cost him the first two but Nadal then goes long and it's back on serve at 3-3.

1654: Serena holds for 4-2. More significant news from Court 11, where Baghdatis has broken in the 12th game to take the second set against Nalbandian 7-5, having taken the first 6-2.

1653: A love service game from Hantuchova puts her 4-1 ahead now. Bjorkman reached the semi-finals last year and he's taken a first step towards the fourth round by taking the first set 6-2 against Arthurs.

1650: Hantuchova is right back into the match with a break of serve in the fourth game of the second set. She was never in the first, but she now leads 3-1 in the second.

1647: Krajicek is now a break up on Granville at 4-2 in the opening set and a composed service game from Soderling gets him back to 3-2, but there's little prospect of Nadal failing to close this out.

1646: Nadal holds to lead 3-1 and Hantuchova is looking a little more solid, she leads 2-1 in the second set, still on serve.

1644: The second set is on serve at 1-1 between Hantuchova and Serena on Centre Court. Hewitt has successfully served out the first set 6-4 against Canas.

1641: Soderling saves one break point against Nadal but an awful backhand wide of the line gives the Spaniard a 2-1 lead. That will be the beginning of the end.

1640: Djokovic is back on serve against Kiefer, breaking in the fifth game to trail 2-3.

1638: Bjorkman has earned the first break against Arthurs in the battle of the two veterans on Court Three. The Swede leads 3-1 in the first set.

1637: A second break of serve has given Davydenko the first set 6-3 against Monfils. The winner will go on to meet Nalbandian or Baghdatis.

1636: Djokovic is finally on the board at 1-3, while Soderling has missed a chance to break Nadal for a 2-0 lead in the third set. 1-1.

1634: Serena holds serve and takes the first set in 26 minutes against a very disappointing Hantuchova. That quarter-final against Henin edges closer.

1633: Kiefer has gone further ahead against Djokovic with a good service game, the German now leading 3-0.

1632: Hantuchova has stopped the rot by holding serve but she still trails Serena 5-2.

1631: Soderling saves a break point with an ace and holds for a 1-0 lead in the third set. Nadal has won the first two sets despite not being at his best, but he showed both an exquisite touch and awesome power in that game.

1629: Djokovic has been broken by Kiefer in his first service game and trails 2-0. In the past year while the Serb has been rising up the rankings and making a name for himself, Kiefer has played only a handful of matches because of a wrist injury.

1628: Four games in a row now for Serena who is charging ahead against the 10th seed at 5-1.

1626: The performances of Michaella Krajicek have caught the eye and she's just won the first game of her match against Laura Granville. The winner will face either Jelena Jankovic or Marion Bartoli in the quarter-finals.

1625: Serena wins her third game in a row, breaking Hantuchova once again for a 4-1 lead.

1622: A delicious cross-court winner gets Nadal out of trouble at 15-30 and he goes on to take the set 6-4. Youzhny has taken the first set 7-5 against Nieminen.

1621: Serena saves break point withan ace and then gets 3-1 ahead against Hantuchova with more solid serving.

1617: Soderling completes the first part of his task by holding serve, now he must break Nadal to find a route back into the match. He's already done it once in this set...

1616: Nadal shakes off the rust and holds serve for a 5-3 lead over Soderling. The match would surely be beyond the Swede if he fails to win the next two games.

1615: Serena has broken to love in the first game after the restart to lead Hantuchova 2-1. The Slovak finished a poor service game with a double fault.

1605: Venus Williams has defended Akiko Morigami after she failed to serve out the match and eliminate the former champion on Court Two. Morigami was leading 5-3 in the deciding set but was broken to love. "I don't think she choked," Venus said. "I don't think she gave it away. She

played really well but I was able to play a little better. She played tough and didn't give me too many points. I had to go out there and take it because I knew she was going to go for it."

1553: Justine Henin has been looking ahead to her potential quarter-final clash with Serena Williams, should the American beat Daniela Hantuchova, and renewing their often hostile rivalry. Henin said: "I think it's been much better in the last few months. The past is the past. We have a lot of respect for each other. I wouldn't say we chat a lot, but the atmosphere is pretty good in the locker room. We are different styles, which is interesting and exciting for the crowd. When you play a quarter-final of a Grand Slam, you know you have to be at your best. No-one is going to give you anything at this time in the tournament."

1548: The covers are being deflated, which is a little more optimistic after a miserable two and a half hours.

1527: Ana Ivanovic, who completed her third round victory over Aravane Rezai earlier today, is expecting another tough encounter in the fourth round when she faces Nadia Petrova. "It's going to definitely be a very tough match because she's a very good player and on grass she has a very good potential with her serve and strokes," Ivanovic said. "She hits hard and flat serves so I think it's important for me to keep a high percentage on my serve and try to put her under pressure on the return and to try to move forward and be aggressive."

1515: Roger Federer had been due to play today but opponent Tommy Haas withdrew due to an abdominal injury yesterday. That means Federer, last in action on Friday, will not play again until Wednesday at the earliest. Commenting on his enforced rest, the Swiss said the situation was not ideal. "I've not played a great amount of tennis on grass," he said. "I've won all my matches in straight sets and now it's a long break. I just have to make sure I hit the ball a little bit in practice." The top seed has already hit for an hour on the grass today, but interestingly says he won't practice indoors.

1459: Here comes the rain proper, a groan goes around the court and the players scurry back indoors after a six-minute warm-up.

1458: As the players warm up on Court One, one or two umbrellas start to pop up around the stands. There are some spots of rain and it would be a surprise if they stay out....

1451: So where were we? The covers are off and the players are warming up again, with Serena Williams level with Daniela Hantuchova at one game all. Rafael Nadal is 4-3 ahead with a break in the second set against Robin Soderling and Novak Djokovic is just about to start his match against Nicolas Kiefer.

1418: When the rain relents and play resumes, Marcos Baghdatis will look to strengthen his positionagainst David Nalbandian, leading 6-2 2-1. Nikolay Davydenko is a break up on Gael Monfils at 5-3 in the first set and Lleyton Hewitt has won the first two games against Guillermo Canas. Mikhail Youzhny, meanwhile, is serving for the first set against Jarkko Nieminen.

1359: The rain is coming down heavier than ever now so it looks as though this delay could be a prolonged one.

1326: The reward for Berdych is a fourth round meeting with either of the tournament's two oldest players, Jonas Bjorkman or Wayne Arthurs, who have yet to start their third round match.

1324: Away from the drama on Court Two, two more significant results from elsewhere. Seventh seed Tomas Berdych has beaten Hyung-Taik Lee in straight sets while Tamira Paszek has put out the 12th seed Elena Dementieva in three sets.

1321: The rain has started to fall again and most of the courts have been cleared. Williams and Morigami play on for a while longer and they only depart once Venus has saved two break points and taken her first match point.

1319: Serena and Hantuchova are on serve at 1-1 in their first set. Nadal has immediately broken again for a 4-3 lead over Soderling.

1318: Venus' screams have become louder as she has become more desperate. The noise is almost unbearable as she falls 40-15 behind, but she calms herself to fight back for break point and takes the game for a 6-5 lead. Soderling has broken back for 3-3 against Nadal meanwhile.

1312: Venus responds to the pressure with a big service game - no double faults this time as she drops just the one point and levels the match.

1311: Morigami looks nervous and is duly broken to love. 5-4 now - Venus still needs to hold. Cut out those doouble faults!

1310: Marcos Baghdatis has just taken the first set 6-2 against David Nalbandian.

1307: Here's the drama on Court Two. Venus cracks on her serve, which has been very in and out today. There have been plenty of service winners, but her 14th double fault has just seen her fall 5-3 down. Morigami will serve for the match.

1304: Nadia Petrova finishes off Ruano Pascual. She needed a tie-break in the second set but she books her place in the fourth round with a 6-3 7-6 win.

1300: It's over already on Centre - top seed Henin a 6-2 6-2 winner over Schnyder. It was indeed a lesson for the Swiss. Henin is the first player into the last eight in the ladies' singles.

1258: Now it's Venus' turn to fight back from 0-40 down. That big serve again comes in useful when it really matters. Five points in a row sees the final set squared at 3-3.

1253: Williams moves to 0-40 on the Morigami serve but the Japanese digs deep for deuce. She manages to hold for 3-2. That's gutsy stuff.

1252: An update from Court Three. Elena Dementieva was a set up overnight but has lost the second 6-2 to Tamira Paszek. She's already 2-0 down in the decider too. It could well be one of those all-too-familiar off days for the Russian.

1248: Soderling played well in that first set - it was just that one poor service game which cost him. However, he's already lost his serve in the opening game of the second. Can he fight back from here?

1246: Nadal wraps up the first set against Soderling - 6-4. Over on Centre, Henin is already a break up in the second set against Schnyder. It's 2-1.

1243: Petrova fails to serve out - it's now 5-5 in the second set. However, Ana Ivanovic is safely into the fourth round. She's just completed a 6-3 6-2 win over Aravane Rezai.

1242: It's 1-1 in the final set between Venus and Morigami. The tension is rising of the 'Graveyard ofChampions'. Is it about to claim another victim?

1239: In the men's third round, Tomas Berdych led Hyung-Taik Lee by a set overnight. He's just taken the second on a tie-break to lead by two sets to love.

1238: Out on Court 18, Nadia Petrova is serving for the match against Virginia Ruano Pascual. She's another player who was a set up overnight.

1237: Nadal breaks Soderling for a 4-3 lead to take control of the first set on Court One.

1235: Henin wraps up the first set 6-2. As predicted she seems to be coasting into the quarter-finals.

1232: Venus did get a break back on Court Two but sh'es just sprayed a forehand wide on another set point and Morigami has taken the set 6-3 to square the match. Game on.

1230: Henin is now serving for the set at 5-2. On Court One, it remains on serve - Soderling 3-2 to the good.

1226: We have out first winners of the day. Both Svetlana Kuznetsova and Nicole Vaidisova were aset and a break up upon the resumption and both have now polsihed off their opponents to reach the fourth round. They'll be relieved to have got the job done quickly and both will now return tomorrow for the last 16.

1223: Venus finally holds. However, she's still got a lot of work to do to save the second set. Morigami will serve at 5-2 in a bid to level the match.

1222: Over on Centre, Schnyder is broken again after a lengthy game. Henin will serve at 4-1 up.

1221: Two more set points are saved by Venus. She's mixing double faults with some strong first-serves here.

1219: Williams saves all three set points with some good serving.

1217: Not a good start for Venus out on Court Two. She goes 5-1 down and serving to stay in the set falls to 0-40 with a double fault.

1215: Schnyder gets one of the breaks back with her forehand forcing a volley error from Henin. Perhaps we spoke too soon. It's 3-1.

1212: Soderling opens with a service hold against Nadal. The Swede is a decent player - as shown by his seeding of 28 - and he's capable of causing the second seed problems.

1210: Schnyder already looks outclassed. It's now 3-0 and she's made a very poor start. An ace in that game proved her only point. The organisers will love this - this match isn't going to last an hour at this rate!

1208: A hold to 15 for Henin makes it 2-0. Sometimes a slow starter, that's not the case today for last year's runner-up.

1206: Henin and Schnyder is the first match under way and the Belgian breaks serve in the very first game. A good start for the world number one.

1204: Venus Williams and Akiko Morigami have just arrived on Court Two. Remember Venus is a set to the good but trails by a double break at 4-1 in the second. There could be some drama out there to come.

1159: Over on the Centre, a reminder that it's Henin v Schnyder. This should be an easy win for the top seed. She's yet to drop a set so far, whereas Schnyder has been taken to three in all of her matches so far - including two that have gone to 8-6 in the decider. She's more at home on clay and may get a grasscourt lesson today.

1157: Nadal and Soderling have just stepped out on to Court One and are about to begin their warm-up. They did that on Saturday before returning to the locker room mind...

1150: It's now hoped play can start at 1200. It's looking good.

1145: They won't be starting yet but the covers are beginning to come off. Great news.

1120: The latest announcement tells us that play has now been put back until at least 1145 on the show courts and 1200 on those outside. A warning though -it's still spitting.

1105: The delay gives us a chance to look down the schedule at some of the later matches. Andy Roddick faces a tricky test today. The only American left in the men's draw takes on Paul-Henri Mathieu, a player enjoying a fine season. Prior to this year he'd never really made an impact on grass but buoyed but some impressive resuults in the first half of the year he's impressed on the green stuff at Queen's and in Nottingham and has now won three matches here. Roddick has yet to drop a set at the tournament. If he wins in straight sets today he'll be very pleased. Two other Frenchmen also catch the eye. Richard Gasquet starts favourite to beat compatriot Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, but the latter is in the form of his life at present. He's won 13 out of his 14 grasscourt matches so far in 2007 and is only the sixth wild card ever to reach this stage at Wimbledon. His big serve and impressive vollying took out Lleyton Hewitt at Queen's and it's more than possible he could add another big-name scalp today.

1050: Would you believe it! Rain is now falling. With the covers on, it's just been announced that play has been put back until 1130.

1045: For those who missed the news yesterday, Roger Federer won't be playing today. He had been due to meet Tommy Haas in the fourth round, but the German has been forced to pull out due to injury. That's got to be a boost to Federer's hopes of a fifth straight title. Barring a brief knock up on the practice courts he can put his feet up today and tomorrow, with his next match - a quarter-final against either Juan Carlos Ferrero or Janko Tipsarveic - due to be played on Wednesday. Contrast that to the schedule of his main title rival, Rafael Nadal. The Spaniard must now play three days in a row and faces five matches in seven days if he is to win the famous trophy. That's a tough ask. There was a similar situation back in 1991 when Boris Becker did not play his first match until the first Friday due to bad weather. It all proved too much in the end, Becker being trounced by outsider Michael Stich in the final.

1035: It promises to be a busy day at the All England Club today, with more than 100 matches in total on a schedule which even tournament referee Andrew Jarrett admits is "a little optimistic". It's supposed to be fourth-round day in both the men's and ladies' singles but many third-round matches have still be played or completed following Saturday's rain. Only Maria Sharapova and Amelie Mauresmo managed to progress on Saturday which means 14 matches have yet to be completed in the last 32 of the singles. Play on all courts is due to start at 1100 BST as a result. First up on Centre will be Justine Henin's fourth-round clash with Patty Schnyder, while over on Court One second seed Rafael Nadal and Robin Soderling play in round three. There will be plenty of big names on action on the outside courts. In particular, Venus Williams will be out on Court Two at 1100 to finish her clash with Akiko Morigami. A third set beckons as although Williams leads by a set she is a double break down at 4-1 in the second.

1025: First things first. The weather - it's cloudy but the rain is holding off at present. The forecast isn't great again - showers with sunny spells in between predicted throughout the day. It's predicted that the showers will become less frequent and lighter as the day wears on.
