Roger Federer's fourth consecutive victory in the men's singles final at Wimbledon places him firmly among the greats to have played at SW19.

The Swiss star joins Bjorn Borg and Pete Sampras as the only men to win Wimbledon four years in succession in the open era.

Here PA Sport looks at four of the other great male Wimbledon players of the modern era:

Bjorn Borg: Ice-cool Swede who won five Wimbledon titles but was equally at home on clay courts. Unbeaten at the All England Club between 1976 and 1980.

Boris Becker: As an unseeded 17-year-old he became the youngest-ever winner of the Wimbledon title in 1985 and had three epic battles with Stefan Edberg in the final, winning the title three times with his all-action style.

Stefan Edberg: A classic serve-and-volleyer, Edberg won the title in 1988 and 1990 during his three-year run of finals against Becker.

Pete Sampras: 'Pistol Pete' used his fierce serve to fire him to seven Wimbledon crowns and is regarded as probably the best player ever to have graced the grass courts of SW19.
