During the first half of last season, Myskina's mother was seriously ill and she could hardly win a match, her mind clearly being on other things. This time last year she told reporters: "When the ball comes to me, I don't know what I have to do." But her arrival here 12 months ago sparked a return to form as she battled her way through to the quarter-finals. Looked in good nick in Paris recently before being given a lesson by eventual champion Justine Henin-Hardenne. Should make week two but won't win.
