At 29, Likhovtseva is something of a tour veteran. However, she appears to have improved with age, enjoying her best-ever season last year. She reached the semi-finals at Roland Garros and the last 16 here. The Russian actually made the quarter-finals in SW19 in 2002 but has lost more than she's won this term and will struggle to match that feat. A quarter-final appearance at Edgbaston at least provides hope.
