A former Eastbourne winner who has made the last eight here in two of the past three years, Kuznetsova arrives in SW19 with her confidence boosted by a run to the final of the French Open. In Paris she showed all her fighting qualities to battle into the final where she was beaten by Justine Henin-Hardenne. The Russian has a huge forehand which can cause anyone trouble – as she showed when winning the 2004 US Open – but keeping it consistent for seven rounds will be tough.
