| The production line of Russians rather left Zvonareva behind in 2004 with three of her compatriots becoming Grand Slam champions. In terms of shot-making, she appears to have the talent to join them at the highest level but mental frailties have been her undoing with tears flowing on court on more than one occasion. Another player who prefers a slower surface, Zvonareva had nevertheless been to the last 16 here in each of the past two years. Hard to see a title challenge being mounted though. |
