1 He began playing tennis at the age of eight.

2 His idols when growing up were Boris Becker and Stefan Edberg.

3 He finished number one junior in the world in 1998.

4 Also in 1998, he won the Wimbledon juniors singles and doubles titles.

5 He enjoys watching American pro wrestling.

6 His hobbies include playing video games and - perhaps surprisingly for someone from landlocked Switzerland - deep sea fishing.

7 He is coached by former ATP pro Peter Lundgren of Sweden.

8 Two years ago in the fourth round at Wimbledon, he ended the 31-match unbeaten run of seven-times champion Pete Sampras.
