Verdict: Having risen more than 50 ranking places in 2001, Tulyaganova began the season as many people's tip to break into the top ten this season.

From the former Soviet republic of Uzbekistan, the 20-year-old big server picked up many of her points on clay, but also, surprisingly, impressed on grass, getting to the last four s-Hertogenbosch before winning two matches on debut here.

Has struggled to live up to expectation so far this year, although she did have a good run in Miami before achieveing her best result so far in Vienna in the run-up to Wimbledon where she lost in the final.

But the fact that Tulyaganova was playing in that event, on clay, just a couple of weeks before Wimbledon shows she knows she is unlikely to do well here.
