Britain finally tasted success at this year's Wimbledon when veterans
Colin Dowdeswell and Buster Mottram won the men's over-45 doubles title.
The two former British stars beat Americans Sandy Mayer and Peter Fleming -
John McEnroe's old doubles partner - 7-5, 6-4 as dusk settled on Wimbledon
2002.
It had taken Dowdeswell 27 years to gain his revenge over Mayer - who he faced
in the 1975 men's doubles final when the American, partnered by Vitas
Gerulaitis, defeated Dowdeswell and Allan Stone.
