Our Wimbledon columnist, the 1987 champion Pat Cash, looks back on this year's women's singles
I felt Serena was going to win the women's final.
I suppose it was her turn. I don't think the match was rigged or anything, but I do think she wanted it more than Venus did and that makes a difference.
She's very passionate about Wimbledon. Venus had won it twice and Serena wanted to do it. She had that bit more of a killer instinct.
They've made the other girls sit up and think about their fitness, their strength and their power. That can only be a good thing in my opinion.
Clearly a lot of women are carrying weight or are not as strong or as fit as they could be and I think the Williams sisters came in super fit, great athletes and determined and are showing the rest of the group the way to go.
What do the others do to catch up? It's a combination of things - fitness, power, the speed, the reach, the endurance.
Jennifer Capriati did unbelievably well last year but since winning the Australian Open she hasn't done nearly as well. It's tough to keep it going the whole time.
The Williams girls will do well for a while but I don't think they will they will dominate like Martina Navratilova did or Steffi Graf. There'll be a few more come through and challenge them over the next few years.
