Verdict: This left-hander was seeded only after several high-profile withdrawals.

It is hard to see him doing well, given a poor grass record which shows he has won only one match in three previous visits to SW19.

Still he saved his best performance of the year so far for one of the Grand Slams - the Australian Open, where he surprisingly reached the last eight showing plenty of fighting qualities along the way.

Otherwise it has not been a season to shout about for the Austrian and and early exit looks on the cards.
