 WIMBLEDON MEN'S SEEDS

(23) GREG RUSEDSKI (GBR)

Date of Birth: 06.09.73
Became pro: 1991
World ranking: 38

Verdict: The weight of expectation will be on Greg Rusedski's shoulders once more this year.

The British number two has usually done reasonably well at Wimbledon but has never gone that extra yard, his best performance being in 1997 when he reached the last eight before losing to Cedric Pioline.

That was also the year Rusedski, who officially possesses the fastest serve in the game, reached the final of the US Open.

Having missed most of the clay season with a neck injury, but that may have worked well for the well-rested Rusedski who was only narrowly beaten at Queen's Club by fellow big server Mark Philippoussis.

Perhaps he could do with some more games nder his belt, but Rusedski is primed to make another decent challenge.
