(27) XAVIER MALISSE (BEL)

Date of Birth: 19.07.80
Became pro: 1998
World ranking: 34 |
Verdict: Malisse is the rising young star in the men's game out of Belgium, a country which already had two top-ten female players.
Malisse has an all-round game, one which served him well at last year's US Open where he beat Tim Henman on his way to the last 16.
Was at that stage coached by Henman's former coach David Felgate, but the pair have since parted.
Has reached two semi-finals on the tour this season and recently went to the last 16 at Roland Garros.
Has limited grass experience though and will do well to come through the early rounds.
