(21) MAX MIRNYI (BLR)

Date of Birth: 06.07.77
Became pro: 1996
World ranking: 28 |
Verdict: With a big serve, Mirnyi always gives opponents something to think about.
The 6'5" giant, dubbed 'The Beast', has also enjoyed good recent performances on clay.
Reached the semi-finals of the Masters Series event in Hamburg with victories over clay experts Carlos Moya and Mariano Zabaleta before losing to eventual champion Roger Federer.
Didn't adjust well to the grass at Queen's, losing in the opening round to Raemon Sluiter.
Still he can volley and with that serve he has to be a dangerous floater.
