(22) NICOLAS LAPENTTI (ECU)

Date of Birth: 13.08.76
Became pro: 1995
World ranking: 26 |
Verdict: Lapentti returns to the scene of one of his happiest tennis memories.
Not that British fans will wish to remember it. Lapentti was part of the Ecuador team which stunned Britain in the Davis Cup almost two years ago, winning the clash on Court One by three rubbers to two with Lapentti beating Greg Rusedski.
It was a big surprise given that the former Australian Open semi-finalist displays his fighting spirit from the baseline.
Won in St Poelten prior to the French Open but away from the clay has done little this year.
Unlikely to change that at Wimbledon from the back of the court.
