(5) YEVGENY KAFELNIKOV (RUS)

Date of Birth: 18.02.74
Became pro: 1992
World ranking: 6 |
Verdict: Kafelnikov, a former Australian and French Open champion, is another of the world's leading players who has never adapted to grass.
Wimbledon has always been on the agenda for the Russian, but he has just one quarter-final appearance to show for it.
Kafelnikov has been on the end of some unflattering results here, but at least he looked good in Halle in the run-up to Wimbledon where he won the title for a third time.
Still, some have questioned his motivation and he openly admits his last career goal is to win the Davis Cup.
Unlikely to be a serious title contender.
